The ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Phase 1 (Factory New) is one of four regular Gamma Doppler phases on the CS2 karambit. It is Covert rank, with the ★ mark, and it comes from the Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case. The finish exists in two wears because its float scale ends at 0.08. Factory New (FN) occupies 0.00 to 0.07 of that scale, which is 88 percent.
What the ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Phase 1 looks like in Factory New
The curved blade is flooded with a blue-violet haze and white highlights, and the lacquer turns turquoise near the base of the blade and on the finger ring. The handle is gray, with grooves for the fingers, and the paint does not cover it. Valve describes the finish as black and silver metallic paint applied by a marbling method.
Wear settles first on the inner curve of the edge and on the finger ring. Inside 0.00 to 0.07 there is no best copy to search for on this karambit.
Where the ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Phase 1 came from
Valve made the ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Phase 1 itself, and the finish has no Steam Workshop submission. In Valve's finish catalog Gamma Doppler is number 569. It came out on June 15, 2016, together with the Gamma Exposure update and the Gamma Case. Valve's notes for the update of May 24, 2024, list Gamma Doppler among the finishes whose appearance was corrected.
Phase and pattern
On Gamma Doppler the phase is part of the item name, so you choose it yourself instead of pulling it from a case. Phases 1 to 4 are regular, and the only gem is Emerald: Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl exist only on Doppler. Copies within a phase still differ, because the pattern index moves the colors and their placement along the blade. The nickname "BTA Cyan" belongs to Phase 3 copies where turquoise dominates.
What to check before buying
Picking a particular Gamma Doppler Phase 1 karambit comes down to three points:
- the phase in the listing name: Phase 1, Phase 3 and Phase 4 are close in price, and neighboring phases are easy to mix up in a preview;
- float: the 0.00 to 0.07 band is short, so the price, not the number, separates one listing from another;
- an applied name: a karambit takes a name tag, and someone else's inscription stays on after the purchase.
What the ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Phase 1 costs in Factory New
On this finish Minimal Wear costs roughly a fifth more than Factory New, so the top wear is not the priciest one here.
Among Covert karambit finishes, Phase 1 sits in the upper third. Night costs 4 percent less, Fade and Phase 3 cost 6 percent less, and Case Hardened costs 4 percent more. Within Gamma Doppler, Phase 2 is about 30 percent higher and Phase 4 is 10 percent lower. Emerald costs four times as much, Doppler Ruby a little over four times, and Doppler Black Pearl almost five. Bright Water and Freehand, at the bottom of the lineup, cost over three times less than Phase 1.
Getting the ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Phase 1
This karambit drops from the Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case, and the phase it gets is random. A trade-up contract hands out a random rare special item for five Covert skins from one collection, with neither the karambit nor the phase set in advance. A specific Phase 1 is only available as a ready-made listing.
Is there a StatTrak version

Who this wear suits
Buying the ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Phase 1 in Factory New is sensible in these cases:
- you need a blade with no marks on the inner curve of the edge or on the ring;
- you specifically want Phase 1 of Gamma Doppler, not Emerald, which costs four times as much;
- you are choosing between the two wears: Factory New is cheaper than Minimal Wear, and the blade shows less wear;
- your CS2 loadout is built on blue and turquoise, and the gray handle stays neutral next to it.
