The ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Black Pearl in Factory New tops the whole Covert rank on this model in CS2. The rank is Covert, and a ★ precedes the name. Three cases of the Chroma series drop the Doppler finish. Its own wear scale breaks off at 0.08, which leaves two conditions: Factory New and Minimal Wear.
What the ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Black Pearl looks like in Factory New
Dark blue pearl floods the blade with inky streaks. The color goes nearly black at the spine, and violet surfaces in the highlights. The guard and thumb ring shimmer with the same violet; the handle stays gray-green. Pearl lies on the saw along the spine and the bevel of the tip. The round hole is left unpainted, and the tone around it is lighter.
Float runs 0.00 to 0.07. Scratches settle above all on the edge and saw teeth, where dark pearl rubs to pale metal. Factory New never reaches that point, and the teeth read as separate dark strokes.
Phase and pattern
Doppler is a family of seven variants: Phases 1 to 4 and three rare ones CS2 calls gems — Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl. The phase stands right in the product name, so the gem is the buyer's choice.
Copies within one phase still differ: the pattern index shifts the ratio of colors and where they land on the blade. Blue-dominant Phase 4 copies go by BTA Blue, an all-blue blade by Max Blue, with seeds 763 and 575 held the best. On Black Pearl the index changes only the overlay of the dark texture.
Where the ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Black Pearl came from
No Workshop entry exists for Doppler: Valve drew it, and the catalog of finishes lists it as 417. The knife entered the game on January 8, 2015 with the Full Spectrum update. A note from May 24, 2024 mentions a fix to how Doppler and Gamma Doppler appear.
What to check before buying
Parameters to read in a listing:
- which phase the title names, as a thumbnail will not separate dark pearl from Sapphire;
- the float, which in Factory New does not rise above 0.07;
- an applied name, because a knife takes a name tag and the inscription stays;
- the version, as a copy with StatTrak is a listing of its own.
With a spread of 0.00 to 0.07, picking by float has no point.
What the ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Black Pearl costs in Factory New
Nothing in the model's Covert rank costs more. M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby is second and runs about twice cheaper. Below those come Gamma Doppler Emerald, Crimson Web and Doppler Sapphire. The model's most affordable Covert finishes, Freehand and Bright Water, trail by forty times.
Minimal Wear received one eighth of the finish's wear scale, 0.07 to 0.08, and the rest belongs to Factory New.
Getting the ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Black Pearl
The first road runs through three cases: Chroma, Chroma 2 and Chroma 3. The knife comes out of them as a rare ★ item, and the phase on opening is random. The second is a contract: knives and gloves come from five Covert skins of one collection, the rare special item random as well.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The knife exists in a StatTrak version. No Souvenir edition was released.
Who this wear suits
Factory New on this gem is worth buying when:
- the ceiling of the model is the aim, with nothing above Black Pearl in Covert;
- the loadout runs dark blue and violet, which blade, guard and ring fit entirely;
- the edge and saw teeth have to stay clean, as Minimal Wear already shows first marks on them.
