This is the ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby in Factory New, and within the model's Covert rank it yields to Black Pearl alone. Ruby is one of the three Doppler gems, and the finish comes out of the Chroma cases. The rank is Covert, with a ★ ahead of the name. The wear scale ends at 0.08, so the choice in CS2 runs between Factory New and Minimal Wear.
What the ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby looks like in Factory New
The blade is deep red, with cherry streaks over the flat and white highlights along the edge. Lacquer covers that flat entirely, with the saw on the spine, the guard and the thumb ring; the handle stays gray-green under its wrap. The round hole is framed in red, bare metal inside. The saw teeth are painted unevenly, some staying dark.
The wear band is 0.00 to 0.07. The edge and the saw teeth lighten first, then the lug of the guard. In Factory New all three hold their color, and the white highlights read as part of the finish, not use.
Phase and pattern
Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl are the gems, and they exist on the Doppler finish only. In the game files such phases sit on 18 knives and no gun. Gamma Doppler has no gems whatsoever; its rare phase is Emerald.
The phase is recorded in the product name, so a buyer takes Ruby right on the page. Among ordinary phases copies diverge by pattern index: in Phase 2 a layout dominated by pink is BTA Pink, the saturated ones Max Pink or Pink Galaxy. On Ruby the index governs the texture overlay on the red layer.
Where the ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby came from
No outside author stands here: Valve made Doppler without a Workshop entry, under catalog number 418. The finish entered the game on January 8, 2015 with the Full Spectrum update, when the first Chroma case opened in CS2. A separate note from May 24, 2024 recorded a fix to Doppler's display.
What to check before buying
A few lines in the listing decide the purchase:
- the title, as Ruby and pink Phase 2 copies look alike in a thumbnail but are different items;
- the float, which in Factory New never exceeds 0.07;
- an applied name, since a name tag goes on the knife and travels with it;
- the StatTrak variant, a separate item carrying its own price.
There is next to nothing to choose on float: the stretch from 0.00 to 0.07 is short.
What the ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby costs in Factory New
Ruby ranks second by price, under M9 Bayonet | Doppler Black Pearl by roughly twofold. M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Emerald sits slightly below Ruby. Crimson Web and Doppler Sapphire are about one and a half times cheaper. The model's cheapest Covert finish, Freehand, trails by some twenty times.
The second condition is Minimal Wear alone, allotted 0.07 to 0.08.
Getting the ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby
Route one is the Chroma series: the Chroma Case, then Chroma 2 and Chroma 3. Which phase drops is not up to the opener. Route two is a contract of five Covert skins from one collection, returning a random gold item.
StatTrak and Souvenir
This knife has a StatTrak version in CS2. No Souvenir edition was ever made.
Who this wear suits
This condition is the one to take when:
- an even red blade is the aim, not the pink and blue shimmer of ordinary phases;
- the loadout is built around red, guard and ring picking up the blade's tone;
- a clean edge matters, since Minimal Wear makes the white marks beside it more noticeable.
