The blade is covered in a wavy pattern, like forged Damascus steel: light gray and dark gray lines flow along the blade like ripples on water. There is no colored paint, and the finish is entirely steel. The handle is wrapped in gray-brown paracord from the guard to the butt. Valve describes the knife with restraint: it has Damascus steel parts.
