The ★ Paracord Knife with no skin is the CS2 paracord knife with no paint on it, and its listing description reads "Not Painted". The model, Covert rank with the ★ mark, arrived in the game on November 19, 2019, together with Operation Shattered Web. There is no wear, float or pattern here, and all copies are identical.
What the ★ Paracord Knife looks like
The blade is straight, cut off at a slant toward the point, like a tanto. The steel is light, with a factory grind, and the spine is darker. The tang extends beneath the handle, with long slots cut through it so that light shows through.
The handle is wrapped in gray-brown cord, turn after turn, and the end has a hole for a lanyard. The cord gives the knife its color, and everything else is steel.
How the plain ★ Paracord Knife differs from a skinned one
A paracord knife with a skin is chosen by wear and float. A plain one needs neither:
- there is no wear grade, and so no float;
- there is no pattern: every copy has the same cord and the same steel;
- you can add a name tag, and the text stays on the knife;
- stickers do not attach to knives.
It all comes down to a choice between the regular version and the StatTrak one.
What the ★ Paracord Knife costs
Among Paracord Knife skins, the plain knife sits in the lower part of the row by its starting "from" price: six skins are cheaper and eighteen are more expensive. Just below it come Scorched (an eighth cheaper), Boreal Forest and Night Stripe (both a few percent cheaper).
Above it come Damascus Steel, Stained and Urban Masked, each only a few percent more. The top of the row belongs to Doppler: Sapphire costs more than eight times as much as the plain knife, Ruby more than ten times, and Black Pearl almost fifteen.
Is there a StatTrak version
Yes: the ★ StatTrak™ Paracord Knife is a separate item with its own page. The kill counter stays on the knife. The StatTrak version costs about two fifths more than the regular one.
Getting the ★ Paracord Knife
The Paracord Knife drops as a rare special item from three cases: Shattered Web, Fracture and Fever. Bare steel sits in the rare special item pool next to the skins, so the outcome of an opening cannot be chosen.
The second route is a trade-up contract: five Covert skins from one collection produce a single rare special item, but neither the model nor the skin can be ordered in advance. A specific plain paracord knife can only be bought as a ready-made listing on LIS-SKINS.
Who it suits
The ★ Paracord Knife with no skin suits you if:
- you want a knife with a cord-wrapped handle and slots in the tang;
- you want a listing without a float, phases or a pattern;
- skins on this model mostly cost more, and you like the shape without one.
