Description

The ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Black Pearl in Factory New (FN): dark pearl without a single scuff, with a kill counter added on the blade. Its tier is Covert rank, with the ★ mark. The Doppler finish goes onto this model from three cases of the Chroma series. The finish's scale ends at 0.08, so it has two wears: Factory New and Minimal Wear (MW).

What the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Black Pearl looks like in Factory New

The pearl at the base of the blade is nearly black, and farther along the curve violet and whitish swirls spread out. The finger ring shimmers violet-blue, and the same pearl runs onto the butt of the handle. The body of the handle is gray-green, with four finger grooves.

The float band for the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Black Pearl in this wear is 0.00–0.07. Scuffs settle on the ring and on the inner bend of the edge, where the pearl lightens to bare metal. In Factory New both spots are intact, and the curve stays dark.

Phase and pattern

The phase is written into the item name, so in CS2 a gem is something you choose, not something you open from a case. Ruby, Sapphire, and Black Pearl exist only on the Doppler finish: in the game data these variants stand on eighteen knives and not a single gun. The rarest of the three is Black Pearl.

The pattern index decides how the texture lies over the dark base. Whether a good index earns a premium within the gem, sources report differently, so such a premium cannot be relied on. The counter has no link to the phase: the number on the blade does not touch the artwork.

Where the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Black Pearl came from

Valve itself drew the finish; no artist's Steam Workshop submission stands behind Doppler. In Valve's skin catalog it is number 417. The finish went onto the Karambit on January 8, 2015, with the Full Spectrum update and the first case of the Chroma series. In a note of May 24, 2024, Valve reported that the look of Doppler had been adjusted in CS2.

What to check before buying

The differences between copies of the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Black Pearl come down to this:

  • the counter reading: the number is shown in the listing and passes to the buyer, and it cannot be reset;

  • the phase: on a thumbnail, dark pearl is mistaken both for Sapphire and for the blue copies of Phase 4;

  • float: it does not go above 0.07 inside this wear;

  • the name tag: the Karambit takes one, and someone else's text goes to the new owner.

The band for this wear is a tight 0.00–0.07, where the difference between listings is hard to catch.

What the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Black Pearl costs in Factory New

The StatTrak version starts about twelve percent above the regular one: the counter adds percent to the price, not a multiple. Among the Covert StatTrak finishes of the Karambit, Black Pearl is first. After it come the Karambit | Doppler Ruby and the Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald, with a small gap to them. The Karambit | Doppler Sapphire sits noticeably lower.

There are two wears, and they split the scale unequally: Minimal Wear takes the last hundredth, from 0.07 to 0.08, and the rest belongs to Factory New.

Getting the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Black Pearl

Three cases hold this finish, all from the Chroma series: the Chroma Case, the Chroma 2 Case, and the Chroma 3 Case. The Karambit drops as a rare ★ item, and the phase and the counter come randomly.

The second route is a contract: five Covert skins of one collection give one random rare special item. For a StatTrak result all five inputs must carry a counter; the game does not let you mix regular and StatTrak skins.

StatTrak and regular version

The same finish is also made without a counter: the regular version has its own page. The skin has no Souvenir version.

Who this wear suits

The ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Black Pearl in Factory New makes sense if:

  • you want a counter on the knife and the top gem too, with no haggling between variants;

  • your set is built on cold dark tones, and a violet-blue ring does not stand out in it;

  • the pearl on the inner bend of the edge has to be intact: in Minimal Wear it lightens there first.
