The ★ StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby in Factory New carries a kill counter stamped at the blade's base. Ruby is a rare variant of Doppler, and CS2 players call such variants gems. The rank is Covert, marked with a ★. The finish arrives in Chroma cases, its float scale breaks off at 0.08, and two conditions exist. Factory New charges nothing for the counter: the two variants have converged in price.
What the ★ StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby looks like in Factory New
Thick red floods the blade, cherry streaks across the flat, white highlights at the edge. The lacquer runs over the saw on the spine, the guard and the thumb ring, leaving the handle standard gray-green. Bare metal shows inside the red-outlined hole. Painting on the saw teeth is uneven and some stay dark, part of the artwork, not use.
The band lies between 0.00 and 0.07. The edge and saw teeth pale first, then the lug of the guard; in Factory New all three keep their color. Outwardly the counter copy differs only by the window on the blade.
Where the ★ StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby came from
One author stands behind the finish: Valve, with no artist's handle and no Workshop entry. It shipped on January 8, 2015 with the Full Spectrum update, which opened the first Chroma case. Valve's catalog records it as 415, and three cases carry it.
Phase and pattern
The phase is baked into the item name, so Ruby is picked on the page, not drawn. Doppler holds three rare variants: Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl. Emerald is not one of them, belonging to Gamma Doppler instead.
Within a gem the index only shifts the texture overlay on red. Reference sites disagree about rare layouts, so no pattern premium is named here.
What to check before buying
Before taking this copy, look at:
- the counter reading, recorded in the listing and passed to the new owner;
- the phase in the name, as pink Phase 2 copies resemble the gem in preview;
- the float, which in this condition never rises above 0.07;
- an applied name, since the knife takes a name tag and the inscription remains.
Inside 0.00 to 0.07 there is no better copy to find.
What the ★ StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby costs in Factory New
The counter commands no premium here: the plain M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby and the counter copy stand level. Among the model's Covert finishes with a counter Ruby is first, with Gamma Doppler Emerald close behind. After that the drop is sharp: Doppler Sapphire runs about twice cheaper, Case Hardened four times, Autotronic five.
Getting the ★ StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby
The first way is the Chroma cases: Chroma, Chroma 2 and Chroma 3. The knife comes out as a rare ★ item, with the game deciding the phase and the StatTrak function.
The second way is a contract: five Covert skins of one collection yield a random rare special item. The counter brings its own rule: all five inputs must carry counters, since CS2 does not let plain and StatTrak skins mix.
The plain version and Souvenir
The same gem exists without a counter, as a separate product at its own price. Souvenir variants are made for tournament packages, which never contain knives.
Who this wear suits
Take the counter copy in this condition when:
- the counter is wanted and nothing is overpaid for it here;
- an even red blade is preferred to the pink shimmer of ordinary phases;
- the edge and saw teeth have to stay red along their length;
- Covert items are already gathered in the loadout and the knife is picked to match.
