Description

Factory New (FN) on the ★ StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Emerald is the bottom seven hundredths of the scale, where the green holds on every detail. Emerald is a rare phase of the Gamma Doppler finish, and in CS2 such phases are called gems. Covert rank, with the ★ mark. The finish comes from the Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case, and the float ceiling of 0.08 leaves it two wears. What sets it apart from the normal version is the kill counter, and the asking price runs about a seventh higher for it.

What the ★ StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Emerald looks like in Factory New

Green lacquer lies across the whole face of the blade, the saw teeth on the spine, the guard and the ring. Dark emerald swirls are pulled toward the spine and the hole, while nearer the edge the green lightens almost to lime. The saw teeth are painted through, the handle is gray, painted to look wrapped, and it does nothing for the blade's tone. The counter window sits at the base of the blade and does not interfere with the finish.

You can buy the ★ StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Emerald at a float from 0.00 to 0.07. Across that stretch the green is intact everywhere: neither the edge, nor the saw teeth, nor the guard's lug lightens. Scuffs show up there already in Minimal Wear (MW).

Phase and pattern

Emerald exists only on Gamma Doppler: Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl stayed with Doppler. The phase sits in the name next to the StatTrak™ mark, so both features are visible before you pay.

On the ordinary phases, copies differ by pattern, as the shares of black, green and turquoise lie on the blade differently. The turquoise copies of Phase 3 are called BTA Cyan. The reference sources have no breakdown of lucky patterns for this model's Emerald, so the choice rests on the phase and the wear.

Where the ★ StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Emerald came from

Valve drew Gamma Doppler, and no Steam Workshop submission is recorded for the finish. It came out on June 15, 2016, in the Gamma Exposure update, which also opened the first Gamma Case. Valve's catalog numbers the finish 568. Of the guns, only the Glock-18 got Gamma Doppler; the rest are knives.

What to check before buying

Choosing a particular ★ StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Emerald comes down to these points:

  • the counter reading: it cannot be reset in the game and travels with the knife;

  • the phase in the name: the ordinary Gamma Doppler phases are separate items;

  • the float: the number is checked before paying, though inside the wear it makes no visible difference;

  • the applied name: the knife takes a name tag, and the previous owner's text does not go away.

You can buy this knife here almost blind: the 0.00 to 0.07 band is tight.

What the ★ StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Emerald costs in Factory New

The counter commands about a seventh more than the normal M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Emerald. Among the model's Covert finishes with a counter, Emerald is second from the top: only StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby is higher, and the two gems run almost level. Below, StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Sapphire is about half as dear. M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Phase 2 and M9 Bayonet | Autotronic trail by a factor of five.

Getting the ★ StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Emerald

The knife drops as a rare ★ item from the Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case, and neither the phase nor the counter is chosen at opening. The second route is a craft: five Covert skins of one collection trade for a random rare special item. For the counter version, all five inputs must have a counter; normal and StatTrak™ skins do not mix in one CS2 contract.

Normal and Souvenir

Without the counter, the same finish is sold as the M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Emerald, a separate item with its own price. No Souvenir variant of the finish was released in any series.

Who this wear suits

Factory New on the ★ StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Emerald is worth it if:

  • the kill counter is part of the item for you, not a spare line;

  • the green has to hold on the saw teeth and the guard's lug alike;

  • you want the brightest green on the model, not a cheaper green;

  • the premium over the normal version fits the budget.
