The ★ StatTrak™ Paracord Knife, "the paracord" in everyday talk, is a CS2 knife with a kill counter and no skin. The listing is described as "Not Painted". Covert rank, with the ★ mark. It has no wear or float, and no pattern either; listings differ by the number on the counter.
What the ★ StatTrak™ Paracord Knife looks like
The blade is straight, with an obliquely clipped point. A long slot is cut along the spine and carries on into the tang. The steel is bare and light, with soft highlights across the flat.
The handle is wrapped tight in gray-beige cord, with a loop left at the butt. The knife's color comes from the steel and the cord. The counter has no effect on how it looks.
How the plain ★ StatTrak™ Paracord Knife differs from a skinned one
With a skinned knife you go by wear and pattern; with an unpainted one you cannot:
- there is no wear grade, and no float band appears;
- there is no pattern, and the wrap is the same on every copy;
- a name tag fits, stickers do not;
- the counter number is what remains to compare.
All that is left is deciding whether to take the knife with a counter or without one.
What the ★ StatTrak™ Paracord Knife costs
The ★ StatTrak™ Paracord Knife costs more than eleven of the model's skins by starting price and less than thirteen. Below it are Blue Steel (almost level), Ultraviolet (1.18 times cheaper) and Urban Masked (1.29 times).
Above come Crimson Web (14 percent more), Case Hardened (29 percent) and Tiger Tooth (45 percent). At the top, Doppler Sapphire costs 6.2 times as much, Ruby 7.6 times, Black Pearl 10.4 times.
StatTrak and the normal version
A paired item exists: the normal ★ Paracord Knife, on its own page. The counter tallies kills made with this copy, does not reset, and passes to the buyer as it is. The StatTrak™ version costs about 1.4 times the normal one.
Getting the ★ StatTrak™ Paracord Knife
The Paracord Knife drops from three cases: the Shattered Web, Fracture and Fever cases. The first of them came out on November 19, 2019, together with Operation Shattered Web. The knife sits in the rare special item pool, where bare steel and skins come up on equal terms.
Another route is the trade-up contract: five Covert StatTrak™ skins from one collection become a single rare special item, and its model is not something you choose.
Who it suits
Buying the ★ StatTrak™ Paracord Knife on LIS-SKINS makes sense when:
- you want a knife with a braided grip and a kill counter;
- you do not need artwork on the blade;
- paying six to ten times more for Doppler gems makes no sense to you.
