The ★ StatTrak™ Skeleton Knife is the CS2 Skeleton Knife with a kill counter and no skin; the listing description marks it as unpainted. Covert rank, with the ★ mark. It has no wear, no float and no pattern, so listings differ only by what the counter shows.
What the ★ StatTrak™ Skeleton Knife looks like
The blade is a double-edged dagger type, with a needle point and a ridge down the axis. One face of the blade is brighter and the other darker. A row of round holes is cut through the steel near the base.
The guard has a large round hole for a finger. The handle is dark and segmented, with a hole in the butt. All the color comes from the steel itself, and the counter version looks the same as the normal one.
How the plain ★ StatTrak™ Skeleton Knife differs from a skinned one
On a skinned Skeleton Knife the skin sets the artwork and the wear. An unpainted listing has neither:
- there is no wear, and the listing names no float band;
- there is no pattern, so copies cannot be told apart by color or artwork;
- a name tag is supported, stickers are not;
- the only thing to compare is the number on the counter.
The choice comes down to a single question: with a counter or without.
What the ★ StatTrak™ Skeleton Knife costs
By starting price the ★ StatTrak™ Skeleton Knife sits above twelve skins of the model and below twelve. The nearest finishes beneath it are Skeleton Knife | Case Hardened (1.06 times cheaper), Skeleton Knife | Blue Steel (1.13 times) and Skeleton Knife | Damascus Steel (1.20 times).
Above it come Skeleton Knife | Crimson Web (11 percent more), Skeleton Knife | Tiger Tooth (a third more) and Skeleton Knife | Marble Fade (1.55 times as much). The top of the range is the Doppler gems: Sapphire costs 6.1 times as much, Ruby 9.3 times and Black Pearl 11.4 times.
StatTrak and the normal version
The normal Skeleton Knife is sold separately. The counter tallies kills made with this very knife, never resets, and passes to the buyer along with its number. The premium over the normal version is small, about 2 percent.
Getting the ★ StatTrak™ Skeleton Knife
The Skeleton Knife drops from the Shattered Web, Fracture and Fever cases. The Shattered Web Case arrived with its operation on November 19, 2019. In the rare special item pool the knife sits alongside the skins and comes up by chance.
The other source is a trade-up contract: five Covert StatTrak skins from one collection give one rare special item. The model cannot be chosen.
Who it suits
Buying the ★ StatTrak™ Skeleton Knife on LIS-SKINS makes sense when:
- you want a dagger with a finger hole in the guard and a kill counter;
- the counter should not add much to the price, and the premium is about 2 percent;
- you have no use for artwork, and the Doppler gems cost six to eleven times more.
