Description

The ★ Stiletto Knife | Doppler Phase 3 (Factory New) is a blue-violet Doppler phase on a switchblade stiletto in CS2. It is Covert rank, with the ★ mark, and it comes from the Prisma Case and the Prisma 2 Case. The finish is short: its float scale stops at 0.08, so it has just two wears, Factory New (FN) and Minimal Wear (MW).

What the ★ Stiletto Knife | Doppler Phase 3 looks like in Factory New

A narrow, awl-like blade is covered in dark blue lacquer with a violet and turquoise sheen, darkening toward the tip. The handle is brown, with a dark blue rivet-style inlay in the middle. The butt and the stops at the base of the blade are painted to match the blade. Valve describes the knife as an Italian switchblade stiletto whose blade is thrown out by a spring.

This wear of the ★ Stiletto Knife | Doppler Phase 3 has a float of 0.00 to 0.07. In Factory New the lacquer is intact on the blade and on the butt of the handle. Wear is set at the drop and does not build up over time.

Where the ★ Stiletto Knife | Doppler Phase 3 came from

Valve created Doppler, and there is no Steam Workshop submission for it. The catalog lists the finish as number 420, and it came out on January 8, 2015. The stiletto is not in the Chroma cases: its version of the finish sits in the Prisma Case and the Prisma 2 Case. In Valve's note of March 31, 2020, the Prisma 2 Case is described as a case with knives in Chroma finishes.

Phase and pattern

The phase is written into the item name, so "Phase 3" is picked right away, with no case involved. There are four regular phases and three gems: Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl. The gems are sold as separate items.

Phases 3 and 4 look alike in a preview, and on the stiletto that matters, because Phase 4 costs noticeably more. Copies within one phase differ as well, since the pattern index shifts the colors along the blade. How a particular copy is laid out shows only in its own image.

What to check before buying

Several things matter when buying the ★ Stiletto Knife | Doppler Phase 3:

  • the phase in the listing name: Phase 3 and Phase 4 are separate listings that are hard to tell apart by eye;

  • the front face of the blade, where you can see how the blue, violet and turquoise have spread;

  • an applied name: a name tag on the stiletto is possible and stays on the item after purchase;

  • the edition: a StatTrak stiletto is a different item altogether.

Inside 0.00 to 0.07 the ★ Stiletto Knife | Doppler Phase 3 leaves little to tell listings apart, and the outermost ones differ only by the number.

What the ★ Stiletto Knife | Doppler Phase 3 costs in Factory New

Minimal Wear costs 1.75 times as much as the top wear, even though Minimal Wear takes up only one hundredth of the scale.

Phase 3 on the stiletto is the cheapest of the four regular phases. Phase 1 costs six percent more, Phase 4 nineteen, and Phase 2 twenty-eight. Of the gems, Sapphire is the closest, at 2.2 times Phase 3. Ruby costs 3.7 times as much, and Black Pearl 8.4 times.

Of the stiletto's 20 finishes, 10 cost less than Phase 3 and 9 cost more. Ultraviolet is five percent higher, Blue Steel two percent lower, Night Stripe six percent lower and Slaughter eight. Damascus Steel costs half as much as Phase 3 or less.

Getting the ★ Stiletto Knife | Doppler Phase 3

The stiletto with Doppler drops from the Prisma Case and the Prisma 2 Case, and the phase is decided when the case is opened. The contract is a second route: five Covert skins from one collection give one rare special item, and neither the knife nor the phase is set at the input. A specific Phase 3 is available as a ready-made listing.

Is there a StatTrak version

A StatTrak version of the ★ Stiletto Knife | Doppler Phase 3 exists in the game.

Who this wear suits

The ★ Stiletto Knife | Doppler Phase 3 in this wear makes sense when:

  • you want a blue-violet stiletto without paying extra for Phase 4, let alone a gem;

  • your CS2 loadout is built on dark blue, and the brown handle gives a warm contrast;

  • the price of a regular phase matters, and Phase 3 is the cheapest of the four here.
