The finish has three wears: the float scale runs from 0.01 to 0.26 and ends at Field-Tested (FT). In this wear the ★ Talon Knife | Slaughter is given a float of 0.07 to 0.15.

What the ★ Talon Knife | Slaughter looks like in Minimal Wear

The curved blade is covered in translucent red lacquer and broken into light and dark facets. Toward the cutting edge the color lightens to pink and silver. Three round holes and a row of teeth run along the spine. The handle is ivory with brass rivets, and the ring at its end is red. Valve describes a zebra pattern of aluminum and chrome paints under a tomato-colored red lacquer.

In Minimal Wear the red lacquer covers the entire blade, though the pale strip along the cutting edge already reads clearly. The wear was set at the drop and will stay as it is.

Valve also added the knives from the Horizon Case to the Danger Zone Case, which came out on December 7, 2018. A Talon with the Slaughter finish can come out of either case.
