The AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge in Field-Tested (FT) is the middle of the wear scale on the rifle with the dolphins. The wear band for this grade runs from 0.15 to 0.38. It is a Covert skin, and the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge drops from the Falchion Case. The Falchion Collection came out on May 26, 2015.
What the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge looks like in Field-Tested
A pod of dolphins swims across the body on a deep blue-green background, the very aquamarine the skin is named for. The figures are light and the background dark, and the contrast between them holds the whole design together. In FT the scuffs gather on the edges of the receiver and along the top of the magazine, where the dark base wears back to bright metal. The dolphins themselves lie on flat areas and stay whole.
What to check before buying
A listing is judged on two things:
- the float: on a dark background the worn edges are obvious at once, and by 0.38 there are plenty of them;
- the previous owner's stickers and a name tag on the weapon.
The artwork on the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge is identical on every copy, with no pattern variance.
Quite different listings fit between 0.15 and 0.38, so it is worth browsing more than one page of results.
What the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge costs in Field-Tested
Here is how the neighboring wears price against Field-Tested:
- Factory New is roughly five times dearer;
- Minimal Wear is dearer by about one and a half times;
- Well-Worn is cheaper by about an eighth;
- Battle-Scarred is cheaper by about a quarter.
The fivefold gap to the cleanest wear comes from the dark base: wear shows on it sooner than on light or busy finishes, so untouched edges carry a clear premium. Going down, the price falls slowly, and there is almost nothing to save below FT. For playing CS2, the middle of the scale looks like the most sensible choice here.
Getting the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge
The AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge drops from the Falchion Case, and this rifle has never appeared in any other case.
The second route is a trade-up contract: ten Classified skins from the same collection give one Covert skin. The set has two Covert skins, so the chance of landing the rifle is one in two. Which wear comes out is decided by the skins put into the trade.
A knife craft from this collection is more predictable than most: the Extraordinary item in the Falchion Case is a single model, the Falchion Knife. Only the finish stays random.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were ever issued for this finish: they were made only for the tournament map collections. But you can build a Souvenir copy yourself. The Souvenir-O-Matic applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to an ordinary skin from your inventory. That is why the odd Souvenir copy turns up now and then even where no such packages ever existed.
Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge
The dark blue-green background is a handy base: almost any light color reads on it. White and yellow stickers give the most contrast, while blue and turquoise ones merge into the water. On the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge the room for a craft is on the stock and handguard; the area with the pod of dolphins is usually left open, since otherwise the artwork loses its point.
Who this wear suits
Buying the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge in Field-Tested makes sense if:
- you want a cool-toned rifle for CS2 without a fivefold premium for Factory New (FN);
- the dolphins matter more than clean edges, since in FT the artwork is whole;
- the lower wears don't suit: the saving there is under a quarter.
Worn edges stand out clearly against the blue, and near the top of the band the body looks battered. Even edges begin closer to 0.15.
