The AK-47 | B the Monster in Field-Tested (FT) is the third step from the bottom of the wear scale. This is the AK with the graffiti from the tunnel on Overpass. In float terms this wear spans 0.15 to 0.38. It is Covert rank, and the skin belongs to the Overpass 2024 Collection and was never in cases. The Overpass 2024 Collection was added to the game on October 2, 2024.
What the AK-47 | B the Monster looks like in Field-Tested
The palette is pastel: a mint-turquoise handguard with yellow graffiti letters, a lilac receiver, a bright pink stock and a mint-white magazine. The metal is painted gold, namely the gas tube, the handguard clips, the base of the magazine and small details. Against the soft tones it is the gold that holds the whole composition together. The main element is a beige-pink face with bulging eyes and an open mouth on the side of the receiver; near the stock is a second, yellow head.
In FT, scuffs land on the edges of the receiver and on the magazine, and on the motley base they get lost among the artwork itself. Both faces stay intact: they sit on the flat sides, not on the ridges. The gold on protruding metal is the first to dull, and that is the difference from the cleaner wears.
Where the AK-47 | B the Monster came from
Valve drew the finish itself, and in the catalog it is number 142. The Overpass 2024 Collection was added to the game on October 2, 2024, and the B the Monster appeared with it. The artwork refers to a real piece of graffiti from the monster tunnel on the map itself: everyone who has played Overpass walks past that wall.
What to check before buying
Before buying, look at two things:
- the float: wear reads weakly on graffiti, so the top of the band is not a concern here;
- the stickers and name tag already on the copy.
The artwork on the AK-47 | B the Monster is the same on every copy, and there are no rare examples.
The 0.15 to 0.38 range is long, but the base masks wear, and listings from opposite ends of it look more alike than you might expect.
What the AK-47 | B the Monster costs in Field-Tested
For comparison, the other wears cost as follows:
- Factory New costs about four and seven tenths times as much;
- Minimal Wear costs about eighty percent more;
- Well-Worn costs practically the same;
- Battle-Scarred is about a third cheaper.
The gap to the cleanest wear is almost fivefold, and that is a lot for a skin whose wear hides in the artwork. What people pay for here is not looks but clean edges as such, for a craft or a display. For play, FT looks practically the same and costs five times less.
Getting the AK-47 | B the Monster
The AK-47 | B the Monster does not drop from cases. It belongs to the 2024 Overpass map collection, and such sets are not put into cases: copies are handed out in tournament Souvenir packages.
Trade-up is the other way in. One tier below in the collection stand the AWP | Crakow! and the Zeus x27 | Dragon Snore. The collection has a single Covert skin, so the result of the trade-up is known in advance. How worn the result comes out depends on the inputs.
This AK goes no further: above Covert there is no knife craft in map collections; that exists only for cases.
StatTrak and Souvenir
No StatTrak version of the AK-47 | B the Monster was released, but a Souvenir version exists.
Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | B the Monster
The graffiti base takes stickers willingly: stickers in the same street style read as part of the wall. Large, rough ones work better than neat tournament ones, which look out of place next to the drips. There is room for a craft on the stock and the handguard; the receiver with the main figures is usually left uncovered.
Who this wear suits
Buying the B the Monster in Field-Tested is justified when:
- you want a colorful AK for CS2 on which wear is barely visible;
- you see no reason for a fivefold premium for FN, since in a match there is no difference;
- you like the reference to the tunnel on Overpass, which CS2 players will recognize.
Without knowing the map, the artwork reads as just a set of monsters, and half the point is lost.
