Field-Tested (FT) is the working grade of the AK-47 | Bloodsport: the gap to the other three fits inside a third of the price. The rank is Covert, and the skin drops from the Spectrum Case.
What the AK-47 | Bloodsport looks like in Field-Tested
The scheme is a racing one: a red body with dark blue and white inserts, and white sponsor-style decals over everything. "VOLTAIC" is spelled large across the magazine, the receiver carries a number and small emblems, and the stock has a triangular mark. The gas tube and the front sight are brass.
White acts as a third color here and holds the eye, and the sharpness of the lettering is what tells you the condition of a copy. Red covers roughly half the body, blue noticeably less.
In Field-Tested the edge of the receiver and the top of the magazine are the places that wear. The red paint there lightens, and the white letters along the edge lose their outline. The decals themselves stay whole, since they sit on flat areas.
Where the AK-47 | Bloodsport came from
The author is a Steam Workshop member known as SLIMEface. He posted the submission on November 8, 2016 and titled it "BLOODSPORT - AK47 NORMALS", which marks it as a technical version built with normal maps. The finish entered the game on March 15, 2017 with the Spectrum Case, and Valve's catalog numbers it 639.
What to check before buying
- the float: on the red base, light edges show up distinctly;
- how sharp the white lettering is on the magazine and the receiver;
- the stickers and name tag that come with the listing.
Copies of the AK-47 | Bloodsport differ only in wear; the artwork is the same on all of them.
What the AK-47 | Bloodsport costs in Field-Tested
The skin has four grades: the scale breaks off at 0.45, so Battle-Scarred does not exist at all. Factory New costs about a third more, Minimal Wear an eighth more, and Well-Worn is practically level with FT. The ladder is flat, so there is little to save by dropping down a grade.
Among Covert AK-47 finishes, the Bloodsport in this grade stands fifteenth of twenty-four counting up: fourteen are cheaper, nine are dearer. Neon Revolution and The Empress run right alongside, within a tenth. Fuel Injector and one more finish cost roughly a fifth above.
Getting the AK-47 | Bloodsport
The source is the Spectrum Case. The rifle can also come out of a trade-up: ten Classified skins from the same collection, which has two Covert skins in it.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Bloodsport
The AK-47 | Bloodsport has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were ever made for this finish, because packages only ever covered tournament map collections. A souvenir copy can still be built by hand. The Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory. That is why the odd souvenir copy turns up where no package was ever made.
The base is mottled, so stickers go on with caution: red and white ones merge with what is already painted. Black and blue stickers give the contrast you want. The stock and the handguard are free; in CS2 it is better to leave the lettered receiver alone.
Who this wear suits
This wear of the AK-47 | Bloodsport makes sense if:
- you want a bright Covert AK for CS2 without paying extra for a clean float;
- a wide float strip matters, because there is room to choose within the grade;
- you plan a craft: contrasting stickers read well on a red and blue background.
Toward the top of the strip the edges lighten noticeably. If you want an even body, Minimal Wear is the safer pick, and it costs only an eighth more.
