Description

The AK-47 | Crane Flight in Battle-Scarred (BS) is the most affordable of its five wears and the most worn. In this wear it covers a float of 0.45 to 1.00, a little over half of the finish's scale. It is a Classified skin from the Dead Hand Collection.

What the AK-47 | Crane Flight looks like in Battle-Scarred

The finish rests on the contrast between a milky base and yellow metal. Cranes are drawn in thin graphite lines across the handguard and the receiver. Gilding covers the trigger guard, the front sight and the gas tube bracket, and a red circle sits on the stock. The barrel is dark and the grip gray, while the magazine is white, with a wing drawn along its body.

In Battle-Scarred the wear is plain at first glance. The white base shifts to a dirty gray with dark streaks, the gold on the raised edges is down to bare steel, and the crane lines read in fragments. The red circle holds up best: a solid fill scuffs away more slowly than thin linework.

Where the AK-47 | Crane Flight came from

Aresad made the finish. He posted the work to the Steam Workshop on May 1, 2024 under the title "AK-47 | Crane Flight V3", so it was the third version that reached the game. The description says: art by GhostRider.

The author took the subject from Japanese legends. There the crane stands for immortality, prosperity, happiness and love, and whoever folds a thousand paper cranes gets a wish granted. He coated the wood and part of the body in glossy metallic paint, which gives the golden shimmer.

The Dead Hand Collection came out on March 11, 2026, and the AK-47 | Crane Flight has been in it since launch. The finish carries number 1425 in the Valve catalog.

What to check before buying

Before buying an AK-47 | Crane Flight, check the following:

  • float: near 0.45 the base is noticeably lighter, and toward 1.00 it darkens;

  • how much gold is left on the front sight, the guard and the gas tube bracket;

  • name tag and stickers the AK-47 | Crane Flight already carries.

Every copy of the AK-47 | Crane Flight has the same pattern. In this wear the band of 0.45 to 1.00 is long, so comparing several listings is worthwhile.

What the AK-47 | Crane Flight costs in Battle-Scarred

Relative to Battle-Scarred, the other wears stand like this:

  • Factory New is priced at about six and a half times as much;

  • Minimal Wear costs more than three times as much;

  • Field-Tested costs almost twice as much;

  • Well-Worn costs about three tenths more.

The scale of the finish is full, 0 to 1, but the wears split it unevenly: Factory New takes seven percent and Battle-Scarred 55. The upper gap is explained by the gold: the less wear, the longer it keeps its shine.

Among Classified AK-47 finishes at this wear, the skin is sixth of fifteen counting up. Below it stand Searing Rage, Ice Coaled, Nouveau Rouge, The Outsiders and Phantom Disruptor. Above come Point Disarray, Cartel and Frontside Misty, each about twice as expensive, then Redline, and Hydroponic tops the rank.

Getting the AK-47 | Crane Flight

The AK-47 | Crane Flight is in the Sealed Dead Hand Terminal. No other case holds this finish.

A trade-up yields the skin too: ten skins of the rank below, all from one collection, go into the contract. The collection has five Restricted skins and three Classified, so the chance is one in three. Ten Classified skins yield one of two Covert ones: AWP | Queen's Gambit or Glock-18 | Fully Tuned.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Crane Flight

The AK-47 | Crane Flight has a StatTrak version. No souvenir packages were released for this finish: those were made only for the tournament map collections. But a souvenir copy can be built by hand: the Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a regular skin from the inventory. That is why a few souvenir copies turn up now and then, even where no packages ever existed.

The field is light, so dark or red stickers read clearly on it. White and gold ones get lost: the first merge with the base, the second with the metal fittings. On a worn copy a CS2 craft is easy to build around the red circle on the stock, which holds the eye even without the shine of the gold.

Who this wear suits

Buying the AK-47 | Crane Flight in Battle-Scarred makes sense in three cases:

  • you want the cranes drawing in your inventory without paying extra for the shine of the gold;

  • the rifle goes into CS2 matches, where the paint cannot be examined up close;

  • you need a cheap body for a craft that stickers will sit on.

If the shine of the gilding matters, look at Minimal Wear: it costs more than three times as much. An even white color exists only in Factory New.
