Description

The AK-47 | Crossfade in Field-Tested (FT) still has its pastel gradient intact, while the edges of the receiver and stock have already turned gray. This wear is given the band 0.15 to 0.38. It is a Mil-Spec skin that arrived with the Graphic Design Collection, a set with no case of its own. The skin's float scale stops early: all of it fits between 0.00 and 0.50.

What the AK-47 | Crossfade looks like in Field-Tested

A smooth pearlescent gradient runs over the receiver, top cover, handguard and stock: peach-pink in the middle, turquoise-blue toward the cover, lilac on the stock. The transition covers the body in a single piece, with no drawing and no borders. The magazine and barrel are left dark gray, and the paint doesn't reach them. The receiver carries a red indicator dot and a few thin light stripes, and a fine mesh texture shows on the stock.

In Field-Tested the pastel tones turn gray from the edges: the top of the receiver and the butt plate go first. The dark magazine stays as it is, so the contrast between it and the washed-out gradient grows toward the top of the band. Listings between 0.15 and 0.38 look noticeably different from one another.

Where the AK-47 | Crossfade came from

The artwork is in-house: Valve itself is the author, and there is no Steam Workshop submission behind it. The Graphic Design Collection was released on October 2, 2024. The same day Valve opened the Armory, and its note listed three new weapon collections whose items are bought with pass credits. In the catalog of finishes the rifle is number 912.

What to check before buying

Before paying for an AK-47 | Crossfade, buyers look at these things:

  • the float: at 0.15 the gradient is even across the whole receiver, at 0.38 the top edge is gray;

  • the lilac section of the stock, where wear shows first;

  • a name tag and stickers, if they are already on this AK-47 | Crossfade.

There is no pattern variance on the AK-47 | Crossfade: what one listing shows, the rest show too.

What the AK-47 | Crossfade costs in Field-Tested

Across the wears, the price falls out like this:

  • Factory New runs about double;

  • Minimal Wear runs about half as much again;

  • Well-Worn runs about a twentieth higher;

  • Battle-Scarred sits about a twentieth lower.

Well-Worn is priced above the cleaner Field-Tested, but the gap is a matter of cents and rests on nothing in the finish itself. The three worn wears go for practically one price, and the only thing paid for here is the step up to factory condition.

Among the Mil-Spec AK-47 finishes, Crossfade in this wear is fifth by price out of seven. The AK-47 | Elite Build sits right below it, less than a tenth away, and the AK-47 | Steel Delta follows. The cheap end of the rank, the AK-47 | Uncharted and the AK-47 | Wintergreen, trails by roughly a factor of three. Two laminates remain above: the AK-47 | Green Laminate costs about eight times as much, and the AK-47 | Black Laminate almost twenty.

Getting the AK-47 | Crossfade

The AK-47 | Crossfade is in no case. The set arrived in the game together with the Armory, and no key opens it.

A trade-up for the AK-47 | Crossfade takes ten skins of the rank below from this set. The rifle can also go in as an input: ten Mil-Spec skins from the collection give one Restricted skin.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The AK-47 | Crossfade has no StatTrak version. Souvenir copies do exist, but no Souvenir packages were issued for this finish: they were made only for the tournament map collections. Such copies are built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to an ordinary skin from your inventory.

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Crossfade

A gradient with no drawing is a rare case where the whole body is usable for a sticker. The side of the receiver and the handguard are even, and a sticker covers nothing there. The pastel range mutes light and white stickers, while dark and black ones keep their contrast against it. On the gray edges wear cuts into a craft, so it goes lower, on the flat of the receiver.

Who this wear suits

Buying the AK-47 | Crossfade in Field-Tested makes sense if:

  • you want a pastel AK-47 for CS2 without paying extra for clean edges;

  • a Terrorist-side set is coming together in pink and turquoise;

  • you want to choose by the number: within the band the listings are clearly different.

For a CS2 showcase, people take the wears above this one: on worn edges the gradient loses its pearl, and beside the dark magazine that shows.
