The AK-47 | Head Shot in Factory New (FN) is a pastel graffiti rifle whose pearlescent layer and edge paint are untouched. The skin is Covert, made for the Terrorist side, and drops from the Revolution Case. Its float lies within 0.00 to 0.07, which is 7% of the skin's scale.
What the AK-47 | Head Shot looks like in Factory New
Over a pale gray base, almost white, run overlapping patches of pink, lime, turquoise and yellow with drips, the way tags pile up on a wall. The gas tube is lime, the magazine keeps the same tones, and the barrel is dark.
There are no separate figures: the artwork is deliberately fragmented and covers the receiver, handguard, magazine and stock. On the side of the receiver the patches are bigger, on the stock smaller, and between them come splatters and scraps of lettering. Valve's description reads: graffiti "HEAD SHOT GUN" with a pearlescent coating.
In Factory New the edges of the receiver and the corners of the stock have not grayed yet, and color lies there as densely as on the flats. The skin's wear is fixed at the moment it drops and does not change afterward.
Where the AK-47 | Head Shot came from
SerQ, an author on the Steam Workshop, made this skin. The submission "AK-47 : Head Shot Gun [holo]" appeared in the Workshop on April 23, 2020. In the description the author writes that the series took several months and was redone from scratch, and that he put together several variants of the skin. He calls the genre graffiti and the style wild style.
The Revolution Collection went live on February 9, 2023, with the skin already inside. Its finish number in Valve's catalog is 1221.
What to check before buying
Run through these points before paying for an AK-47 | Head Shot:
- float: in this wear the AK-47 | Head Shot is a short stretch from 0.00 to 0.07, so there is no point chasing the number;
- the pearlescent glint on the receiver edges and the stock corners;
- the name tag and stickers: on an AK-47 | Head Shot they stay with the listing.
It is one and the same artwork on all copies; there are no rare examples.
What the AK-47 | Head Shot costs in Factory New
The other wears, measured from the top:
- Minimal Wear is almost twice as cheap;
- Field-Tested is about 2.8 times cheaper;
- Well-Worn is about 2.8 times cheaper;
- Battle-Scarred is about 3.1 times cheaper.
The biggest step down is the first, to Minimal Wear. The three lower wears are almost indistinguishable by price.
Among Covert AK-47s with a price in this wear, the skin is second from the bottom of twenty-four: only AK-47 | Legion of Anubis is cheaper. AK-47 | Nightwish and AK-47 | Inheritance are dearer by about a fifth. AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge and AK-47 | Bloodsport cost one and a half to two times as much, and AK-47 | Wild Lotus almost two hundred times as much.
Getting the AK-47 | Head Shot
The AK-47 | Head Shot drops from the Revolution Case, and no other case carries this artwork. A contract for the AK-47 | Head Shot takes ten skins from the rank below, all from one set. There are two Covert finishes in the collection, and the odds on this one are one in two.
StatTrak and Souvenir
A StatTrak version of the AK-47 | Head Shot exists. Souvenir packages for this finish were never made, as only tournament map collections got them. Souvenir-O-Matic still produces souvenir copies on demand, hanging gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a plain skin from your inventory. So a rare souvenir copy can show up where there was never a package.
Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Head Shot
Stickers go on live pearlescent shine rather than on beaten paint. The light motley base hides pastel stickers, while dark and contrasting ones read at once. Free space is scarce: the receiver and stock are taken by the blotches, and the underside of the handguard is the cleanest.
Who this wear suits
Factory New is worth taking on the AK-47 | Head Shot when:
- you want a Covert AK-47 for CS2 with an untouched pearlescent layer;
- it matters that the pink and turquoise blotches on the edges are intact;
- the skin goes into a CS2 inventory for close inspection.
If the shine does not matter, Minimal Wear costs almost half as much, and on a motley base the scuffing is less noticeable than on a solid color.
