The AK-47 | Hydroponic in Minimal Wear (MW) is the closest this rifle gets to factory condition. Its float lies between 0.07 and 0.15. The rank is Classified; the skin belongs to The Rising Sun Collection, which has no case. The look depends on the pattern index, so leaf placement is a second choice beside the float.
What the AK-47 | Hydroponic looks like in Minimal Wear
Acid-green cannabis leaves across a light gray, nearly white receiver are the main event. Valve's description calls the motif bamboo, yet cannabis leaves are what lie there. The artwork stops there: handguard and stock are brown lacquered wood with visible grain, the grip terracotta. Gas tube, front sight base and muzzle are bright grass green as separate parts, not a fill. The magazine stays dark steel with white ribs, outside the artwork.
Here the pale receiver keeps its white in the middle and grays only at the edges. Green metal on the raised parts is touched in spots, not rubbed back to steel. The wood darkens at the stock corners, though the lacquer on the flats holds. At 0.07 the receiver looks factory; at 0.15 the gray edges show in the preview.
Where the AK-47 | Hydroponic came from
Valve drew this rifle; the Steam Workshop holds no submission for it. Its home, The Rising Sun Collection, came out on May 26, 2015. It arrived with Operation Bloodhound, whose announcement promised pass holders a coin, a mission journal and profile ranks. The catalog lists it as number 456.
What to check before buying
Read before paying:
- the pattern index, which decides how leaves land on the right side;
- the float inside 0.07–0.15, since receiver edges gray near the top;
- the name tag and stickers the rifle carries.
The spread in artwork is real: leaves fall differently from copy to copy, the second price driver after float. Inside 0.07–0.15 there is no better specimen to hunt.
What the AK-47 | Hydroponic costs in Minimal Wear
Against this grade the others stand like so:
- Factory New is dearer by about two and a quarter times;
- Field-Tested is cheaper by about half again;
- Well-Worn by about a third;
- Battle-Scarred by nearly half.
The largest gap falls between this grade and the factory one. Downward it drops in smaller steps and out of order, since Well-Worn costs more than Field-Tested.
Among Classified AK-47 finishes here the rifle is first of fifteen by price. Second in the rank, AK-47 | Jet Set, is about three times cheaper and AK-47 | Case Hardened about six. The cheap end, AK-47 | Searing Rage and AK-47 | Phantom Disruptor, runs over two hundred times below.
Getting the AK-47 | Hydroponic
No CS2 case holds this skin. A trade-up also yields it, on ten skins a rank below, same collection. The set has one Classified item, so the outcome is sure, while leaf placement is random.
StatTrak and Souvenir
This rifle has no StatTrak version and no Souvenir one.
Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Hydroponic
More free field for a craft sits on the stock and the magazine. The pale receiver is taken by leaves, and a sticker there argues with the artwork. The edges are already touched here, so a sticker near the receiver edge lands on paint that has gone down.
Who this wear suits
Buy here if one of these fits:
- a near-factory look is wanted without paying double for Factory New;
- a particular pattern matters: a clean receiver shows leaf edges better than a worn one;
- the rifle is kept as a long-term inventory piece.
For daily play the grade is excessive: gray receiver edges do not register at range. The premium over Field-Tested buys a white receiver and unbroken green metal.
