AK-47 | Inheritance (Field-Tested)

The AK-47 | Inheritance in Field-Tested (FT) is the most affordable way into this rifle: only the bottom grade comes lower, and barely. The rank is Covert, and the skin arrives in the Kilowatt Case.

What the AK-47 | Inheritance looks like in Field-Tested

The body is painted like porcelain: a blue floral pattern runs over a cream-white base, with scrolls, leaves and flowers laid down in a fine brush. On the AK-47 | Inheritance that painting covers the receiver, handguard, top cover and stock, every pale part of the rifle at once.

The magazine and pistol grip fall outside the scheme. Both are blue, and the ornament on them is picked out in gold. Gold also goes on the magazine floor and on the thin line edging the white panels. Blue carries the gas block with the front sight post, while the barrel stays pale. White porcelain, blue painting and gold together are what make the finish recognizable at a glance.

In Field-Tested the white base rubs through along the receiver edges and across the top of the stock. It grays there, and the ornament breaks at the border. The gold lines go matte first, while the blue parts look much as they do in clean grades, since wear reads poorly on dark colors.

Where the AK-47 | Inheritance came from

The finish was drawn by a Steam Workshop contributor going by Endrit. He posted the submission on December 23, 2018, and the skin reached the game only on February 6, 2024, with the Kilowatt Case, more than five years later. Valve's catalog lists it as number 1171.

The artist named his sources himself: traditional Chinese porcelain and Dutch Delft painting. That is where the blue and white pairing comes from, a recognizable manner of decorating tableware rather than an abstraction. Valve added the word inheritance in the item description, a family heirloom passed down the generations.

What to check before buying

• the float, since the white base shows wear earlier than the blue parts and the difference across the band reads clearly;


• the state of the gold lines on the top cover and by the front sight, where the shine goes first;


• a name tag and stickers from the previous owner.

Every copy carries the same artwork, so nobody pays extra for a lucky pattern here.

What the AK-47 | Inheritance costs in Field-Tested

The ladder between grades is an odd one. Factory New asks around three times as much and Minimal Wear about one and a half times. Well-Worn, though, costs slightly more than Field-Tested, and only Battle-Scarred comes cheaper, by roughly a sixth. Dropping below Field-Tested to save money is therefore pointless.

The AK-47 has twenty-four Covert finishes, and Inheritance stands fourth from the bottom by price in this grade: three are cheaper. Legion of Anubis, Head Shot and Aquamarine Revenge sit in the same bracket, within a tenth of each other. The next rung up, Asiimov, costs about a sixth more, and Neon Rider a third more.

Getting the AK-47 | Inheritance

Two sources: the Kilowatt Case, or a trade-up contract built from ten Classified skins of the same collection. The skin also goes on as input to a knife craft. The Kilowatt Case holds a single rare special item, the Kukri Knife, so the model is known in advance and only the finish is left to chance.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Inheritance

The AK-47 | Inheritance has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up as well, though no Souvenir packages were ever made for it: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.

Blue on white painting makes for a busy and fairly light background. Dark stickers read on it, blue ones merge with the ornament, and white ones disappear entirely. Free space is scarce: a craft in CS2 has the stock and part of the handguard to work with, and the gold-trimmed top cover is better left uncovered.

Who this wear suits

Buying the AK-47 | Inheritance in Field-Tested is reasonable when:

• a Covert AK for CS2 is wanted at the bottom edge of the rank;


• porcelain painting appeals more than military or neon finishes;


• there is no reason to go lower, Well-Worn costing more here.

On the white base the gray edges already show in Field-Tested, and the ornament breaks where they run. For painting that is still whole, Minimal Wear is the grade to look at.
