The AK-47 | Leet Museo in Minimal Wear (MW) is the second step from the top. The painted panels still have unbroken outlines here, and the price is half the Factory New one. The float in this grade lies between 0.07 and 0.15. It is a Covert skin, made for the Operation Riptide Collection, and that set has its own case.
What the AK-47 | Leet Museo looks like in Minimal Wear
The most readable pieces of the painting sit on two parts: the handguard shows a tree with a green crown, and the magazine a figure in a beige coat. The stock carries a cream rectangle with a small blue square inside, like a framed picture. The receiver sides are assembled from duller panels: brick red, pale turquoise and gray. There are no inscriptions or numbers on the body.
Paint covers the handguard, the underside of the gas tube, the cover and sides of the receiver, the magazine, the grip and the stock. The barrel, the front sight and the top of the gas block are dark blue-gray metal.
Across 0.07 to 0.15 the wear lands in spots. The panel outlines follow the edges of the body, so the rim of the cover, the edges of the handguard and the corners of the stock go lighter. The seams between panels do not part, and the tree and the figure on the flat sides look as they do in Factory New.
Where the AK-47 | Leet Museo came from
The finish was conceived by an artist who goes by Oscar. The work reached the Steam Workshop on April 19, 2021, under the title "AK-47 | Pablo | Unsigned". The author explained the "Unsigned" himself: he removed the signature so that the resemblance to Pablo Picasso's hand would not go too far. The AK-47 | Leet Museo came out on September 21, 2021. Its number in Valve's skin catalog is 1087, and Valve announced Operation Riptide in a separate post a day later.
What to check before buying
In a listing, these are the points to look at:
- the float: within 0.07 to 0.15 the whole difference comes down to the width of the light strip on the rim of the cover;
- the corners of the stock and the edges of the handguard, where the panels lose their outline earlier than anywhere else;
- whether the rifle carries stickers and a name tag.
Every copy has the same pattern. Buying here can almost be done blind, because the band of 0.07 to 0.15 is tight. The finish's own scale stops at 0.65, and this grade takes about an eighth of it.
What the AK-47 | Leet Museo costs in Minimal Wear
The neighboring grades relative to this one:
- Factory New is about twice as expensive;
- Field-Tested is about a third cheaper;
- Well-Worn is almost four times cheaper;
- Battle-Scarred is about five times cheaper.
A step up doubles the price, and a step down gives back a third. The case for this grade rests on that: the look is nearly factory, and the premium is short.
Among Covert AKs priced in Minimal Wear, the finish ranks eighteenth of twenty-four from the bottom. Right above it stands AK-47 | AUTOEXEC, about a tenth dearer, and AK-47 | Vulcan, about a third dearer. Below come AK-47 | Consequence of the Jinn and AK-47 | B the Monster, and at the top of the rank sits AK-47 | Wild Lotus.
Getting the AK-47 | Leet Museo
The AK-47 | Leet Museo drops from the Operation Riptide Case, and no other case holds this finish.
You need not buy it, as it can be built: the trade takes ten skins of the rank below from this set. There are two Covert items in the collection, and which one the trade returns cannot be said in advance. The Covert rank itself leads further, into a knife craft.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The AK-47 | Leet Museo comes in both a StatTrak™ version and a Souvenir one.
Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Leet Museo
On top of the painting a sticker looks like a foreign insert, so the place for one is on the magazine. The cream rectangle on the stock works as a ready-made frame, and a small logo inside it looks right at home.
Who this wear suits
Minimal Wear makes sense for the AK-47 | Leet Museo when:
- you want a look indistinguishable from factory, in CS2 matches and in the inventory alike;
- the double premium for the top grade seems unnecessary;
- a predictable listing matters: copies inside the band look alike.
For matches this grade is overkill: at a distance the panels read the same.
