AK-47 | Neon Revolution (Minimal Wear)

In Minimal Wear (MW), the AK-47 | Neon Revolution is a pink Covert rank AK with paint rubbed off only at the sharpest corners. The float band in this wear is 0.07 to 0.15. On the skin's scale of 0.00 to 0.80, that is 10 percent. It drops from the Gamma 2 Case and is equipped on the Terrorist side.

What the AK-47 | Neon Revolution looks like in Minimal Wear

An acid-pink field covers the handguard, cover, receiver, magazine and stock. Acid-green splashes lie over it: the ANARCHY lettering on the cover, drips at the muzzle, the bottom of the grip and the lower edge of the magazine. Only the barrel, the gas block and the bottom of the receiver are dark.

The graffiti on the cover reads as hand-drawn, with drips. Look closely and you can see the texture of rusty wood under the paint, while stencil-style icons are scattered across the handguard and the stock.

In this wear the scuffing is limited to the edges. The top of the cover and the ribs of the magazine lighten a little, and wood does not come through yet. The green letters keep almost their whole outline.

Where the AK-47 | Neon Revolution came from

Coridium is the author. He posted the work “AK47 - ANARCHY” to the Steam Workshop on March 16, 2015. The skin came to the game on August 18, 2016, when the Gamma 2 Collection was added, a year and five months after the submission.

What to check before buying

These are the things that matter on a purchase:

• float: the whole wear fits within 0.07 to 0.15, so listings look the same;


• the edges of the cover and the magazine, where the pink lightens first;


• stickers and a name tag that a previous owner left on the rifle.

There is no pattern spread: what one listing has, the rest have.

The other wears relative to this one:

• Factory New costs about 1.8 times as much;


• Field-Tested is cheaper by a few percent;


• Well-Worn is cheaper by a few percent;


• Battle-Scarred is cheaper by about a tenth.

The three lower wears sit in one narrow price band, and the gap opens only at the top.

In the row of twenty-four Covert AKs the skin stands in the middle: twelve are cheaper and eleven pricier. AK-47 | Jaguar is right behind it, a little cheaper. Above it are AK-47 | B the Monster and AK-47 | Bloodsport, pricier by roughly a fifth to a seventh. At the bottom of the row is AK-47 | Aphrodite, while AK-47 | Wild Lotus costs more than ninety times as much as this skin.

Getting the AK-47 | Neon Revolution

The skin has a single case, the Gamma 2 Case. A trade-up also yields it: ten skins one rank lower, all from one collection. The Gamma 2 Collection holds two Covert finishes, so the odds are one in two.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The AK-47 | Neon Revolution comes in a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were ever released for this finish, since those existed only for tournament map collections. You can still make a Souvenir copy yourself: the Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory. That is why a few Souvenir copies turn up now and then, even where no packages ever existed.

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Neon Revolution

Large flat areas are rare here, since the drips break up any frame, and stickers without a background of their own sit cleaner. Contrasting black stickers show up well on the pink. Green ones repeat the color of the lettering and get lost next to it, so in a CS2 craft the cover is left free.

Who this wear suits

Minimal Wear on the AK-47 | Neon Revolution is worthwhile when:

• you want a bright AK for CS2 with an almost whole pink fill;


• paying 1.8 times as much for Factory New seems excessive;


• the wood under the paint must not come through.

If more scuffing is acceptable, the three wears below cost practically the same, and you choose between them by how the listing looks.
