AK-47 | Nightwish (Field-Tested)

The AK-47 | Nightwish in Field-Tested (FT) sits midway between the top and the bottom of the wear scale, at the point where the neon is still intact. Its float band runs from 0.15 to 0.38. It is a Covert skin and drops from the Dreams & Nightmares Case. The Dreams & Nightmares Collection went into the game on January 21, 2022.

What the AK-47 | Nightwish looks like in Field-Tested

A deer and dream catchers are laid out across the body in neon colors, painted over a pearlescent base. The neon here is cool, turquoise with pink, and against the dark ground it glows by itself, with no backlight. The pearlescent layer adds a shimmer that shifts as you turn the rifle. In FT the edges of the receiver and the magazine dull, but the neon artwork itself sits on flat areas and stays intact.

What to check before buying

A listing is judged on two things:

• float: toward 0.38 the pearlescent shimmer on the raised parts clearly goes dull;

• a name tag and stickers already on the copy.

The artwork on this skin is the same for everyone, and there are no rare copies.

Copies within one wear differ a lot: the 0.15 to 0.38 band is wide, so look at the float value itself, not only the wear name.

What the AK-47 | Nightwish costs in Field-Tested

For comparison, here is how the other wears stand:

• Factory New (FN) costs about three fifths more;

• Minimal Wear costs only a few percent more;

• Well-Worn is a few percent cheaper;

• Battle-Scarred is about a tenth cheaper.

The three lowest wears hold nearly level, and the difference between them does not pay for what you lose in looks. The premium up to FN is less than double, a moderate gap for a Covert skin, so paying up to FN does not look excessive here.

Getting the AK-47 | Nightwish

The AK-47 | Nightwish comes from the Dreams & Nightmares Case, which also fixes the skin's collection.

To get the skin through a contract, hand in ten skins of the rank below from the same set. Dual Berettas | Melondrama, FAMAS | Rapid Eye Movement and MP7 | Abyssal Apparition qualify. The set has two Covert skins, so the rifle is the result one time in two. A contract can return the AK-47 | Nightwish at any wear, since the wear is worked out from the inputs.

The skin itself goes up, into a knife craft: five Covert skins of the collection turn into a random special item. From Dreams & Nightmares come the Bowie Knife, Butterfly Knife, Falchion Knife, Huntsman Knife and Shadow Daggers.

StatTrak and Souvenir

A StatTrak version of the AK-47 | Nightwish exists. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up too, but no package was ever released for it: those were made only for tournament map collections. Such copies are put together through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which places gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from the inventory.

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Nightwish

Neon on pearlescent is a busy background, and calm stickers simply do not show on it. Two kinds work: holographic ones that pick up the shimmer, or dense black ones that cut a hole in the saturated artwork. Turquoise and pink stickers blend into the finish itself. Stickers go on the stock; the receiver with the deer is not normally covered.

Who this wear suits

Field-Tested pays off for the AK-47 | Nightwish when:

• you want a bright neon AK for CS2 without paying extra for a clean float;

• the artwork itself has to be untouched, and in FT it is intact;

• the lower wears do not fit: they cost about the same and show less shimmer.

In CS2 the pearlescent shimmer shows only when you inspect the skin; in play, what is left is the neon artwork without the effect.
