Battle-Scarred (BS) is the most worn version of the AK-47 | Safety Net, the orange-net rifle. The float band of this wear is cut off at the top: the skin's ceiling is 0.60, so Battle-Scarred occupies 0.45 to 0.60, not the usual run to 1.00. The skin is Restricted and comes from The 2018 Inferno Collection. It is the T-side rifle for players who want the finish in its most worn state.
What the AK-47 | Safety Net looks like in Battle-Scarred
The handguard, cover, receiver sides, grip and stock are wrapped in an orange net over pale gray-green oval cells. Gas tube, handguard front, front sight and gas block are painted white. The magazine is still dark, black-brown, with no pattern on it. The trigger and safety are light, metallic. The finish has no inscriptions or logos, only the net of bridges and cells.
The orange bridges are thin, so toward 0.60 they get lost on the ridges of the handguard, the edge of the cover and the corners of the stock. White paint on the round gas tube and the front sight is the first to go, baring dark metal. The flat sides of the receiver keep the pattern longest.
Where the AK-47 | Safety Net came from
There is no Workshop submission behind the AK-47 | Safety Net. Valve made it in-house. It came out in September 2018 and sits under number 795 in the Valve catalog. By Valve's description it is an orange net on a white base, with the tagline "Your loadout; now with high visibility".
What to check before buying
What sets one AK-47 | Safety Net listing apart from another:
- float: the scale of this wear lies between 0.45 and 0.60;
- stickers from a previous owner, and a name tag;
- where the net sits on the handguard and side: each copy lays it out differently;
- item type: there is no StatTrak for the finish, but Souvenir copies exist.
Pattern variance on the AK-47 | Safety Net
The net is laid on by hydrographics with an offset, so copies differ in where the cells and bridges fall. The csgoskins source notes pattern variation on the finish but names no rare variants. Listings have to be compared by eye, using the screenshots in the listings themselves.
What the AK-47 | Safety Net costs in Battle-Scarred
The other wears stack up like this:
- Factory New costs 3.17 times as much;
- Minimal Wear costs 1.31 times as much;
- Well-Worn costs 1.22 times as much;
- Field-Tested is 1.16 times cheaper.
Field-Tested turns out to be the cheapest of the five wears, with Battle-Scarred priced above it.
Among Restricted AK-47 skins in this wear, it sits in the middle: three skins are cheaper, four are dearer. Next to it, Rat Rod and Slate cost more, while Breakthrough, Midnight Laminate and Emerald Pinstripe cost less. The top end of the row belongs to Orbit Mk01 and First Class.
Getting the AK-47 | Safety Net
Regular cases do not carry the finish. Copies arrive from tournament Souvenir packages, eleven of them in all, from the London 2018 Inferno Souvenir Package to the Budapest 2025 Inferno Souvenir Package.
The other route is a trade-up contract: ten Mil-Spec skins of any origin go in, and a Restricted skin from the collection of one of the inputs comes out. A player who wants The 2018 Inferno Collection as the target can take the whole ten from it, and this skin then drops in one case out of three.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The finish comes without StatTrak. Souvenir copies do exist, since eleven Inferno tournament packages carry the AK-47 | Safety Net.
Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Safety Net
The orange net takes up the whole weapon except the magazine and the white front end. Dark, saturated stickers show clearly on the cells, and pale ones get lost on the white gas tube. In Battle-Scarred the edges are already scuffed, so it is better to keep stickers on the flat receiver sides.
Who this wear suits
The AK-47 | Safety Net in Battle-Scarred makes sense if:
- you want the orange net for less than the upper wears cost;
- Field-Tested does not suit the look, and Battle-Scarred costs only 1.16 times more;
- the position of the net matters more than the condition: between listings, the artwork varies more noticeably than the wear.
The band 0.45 to 0.60 is narrow, so copies are nearly indistinguishable by wear and differ in where the pattern lies.
