The AK-47 | The Oligarch in Battle-Scarred (BS) is a Covert rifle from The Genesis Collection, finished to resemble a white-and-black puffer jacket with gold. Of the finish's five wears, it is the cheapest and the one with the longest float range. Its source is the Sealed Genesis Terminal.
What the AK-47 | The Oligarch looks like in Battle-Scarred
Valve describes the paint job as a copy of the look and texture of a luxurious black-and-white puffer jacket with gold accents. It imitates a material rather than an ordinary pattern: a quilted jacket carried over onto a weapon.
The float range of this wear runs from 0.45 to 1.00. Listings anywhere in that stretch differ noticeably in look: the band takes up 55% of the finish's whole scale, and the scale is not cut off at the top.
Where the AK-47 | The Oligarch came from
Strenson drew the finish. On the Steam Workshop the work was titled "AK-47 | Puffer V1" and went up there on November 12, 2024. In the description of his Lux Trim collection, the author names puffer jackets and the interiors of luxury sports cars as his inspiration.
The Genesis Collection was released on September 16, 2025, and the AK-47 | The Oligarch has been in the set since launch. In the Valve catalog it carries number 1352.
What to check before buying
Before you pay for an AK-47 | The Oligarch, check these points:
- float: the band from 0.45 to 1.00 is long, and a copy near 1.00 is noticeably more scuffed than one at 0.45;
- the name tag and stickers the rifle already carries;
- the listing type, regular or with a StatTrak counter, since the two are priced differently.
The artwork is the same on all copies, so there is no particular one to hunt for.
What the AK-47 | The Oligarch costs in Battle-Scarred
This is the floor of the finish's price range, and the price climbs through the wears like this:
- Well-Worn costs about a seventh more;
- Field-Tested costs about one and a half times as much;
- Minimal Wear sits more than three times higher;
- Factory New costs almost eight times as much.
Among the twenty-three Covert AK-47s, this wear ranks fifth from the bottom. AK-47 | Aphrodite, AK-47 | Head Shot, AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge and AK-47 | Inheritance are cheaper, while AK-47 | Legion of Anubis and AK-47 | Asiimov sit right above. The top of the rank belongs to AK-47 | Wild Lotus.
Getting the AK-47 | The Oligarch
The skin drops from the Sealed Genesis Terminal, and no other case contains the finish. A trade-up contract is the other way in.
To trade up into the AK-47 | The Oligarch, you put in ten skins from one rank down in the same collection. Those are AWP | Ice Coaled, Glock-18 | Mirror Mosaic or MP7 | Smoking Kills. The Genesis Collection has two Covert skins, so the odds of getting the AK-47 are one in two, and the other outcome is M4A4 | Full Throttle.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | The Oligarch
The AK-47 | The Oligarch has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were ever released for this finish: they existed only for tournament map collections. You can still build a Souvenir copy yourself, though. The Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory. That is why a stray Souvenir copy turns up now and then even where no packages ever existed.
The finish already has gold in the paint itself: a gold sticker will only echo it, while cool and dark tones give contrast. For a craft in CS2, Battle-Scarred works as the cheapest base, since the rifle costs less here than in any other wear.
Who this wear suits
An AK-47 | The Oligarch in Battle-Scarred is worth buying for these reasons:
- you want a Covert AK-47 at the lowest price within this finish;
- the idea of a puffer jacket on a weapon appeals to you, and a clean surface is secondary;
- you are taking the rifle to play the Terrorist side in CS2.
The buyer gets exactly the wear the listing shows: the float is fixed at drop and does not change afterward.
