The AK-47 | The Outsiders in Field-Tested (FT) is the grade this rifle is normally bought in. The float band runs from 0.15 to 0.38. The rank is Classified, and the skin comes out of the Gallery Case. The Gallery Collection joined CS2 on October 2, 2024.
What the AK-47 | The Outsiders looks like in Field-Tested
Crude drawings of terrorists are scattered over the body, halfway between graffiti and a child's sketch. The line is deliberately wonky and the ground is pale, and that sloppiness is the whole subject of the finish. The scenes run down both sides of the receiver and carry over onto the magazine.
In Field-Tested the receiver edges and the top of the magazine go dull, and gray shows up at once against the pale ground. The figures survive: they are drawn in a thick line, which holds wear better than fine graphics. Toward the upper end of the band the pale ground between them grays and the scenes lose contrast.
What to check before buying
Two things carry weight here:
- the float, because the pale ground between the figures grays long before the drawings themselves suffer;
- a name tag and any stickers left on the copy.
The artwork repeats from copy to copy, so no rare examples of this AK exist.
Copies in this grade differ a good deal in wear, 0.15 to 0.38 being a wide stretch.
What the AK-47 | The Outsiders costs in Field-Tested
Against this grade the other four line up as follows:
- Factory New is dearer by roughly seven times;
- Minimal Wear by about three quarters;
- Well-Worn is cheaper by around a seventh;
- Battle-Scarred by around a quarter.
A sevenfold step up to Factory New is steep for a Classified skin, and it rests on the pale ground. Clean, that ground is even, free of gray patches, and the scenes read as if drawn on paper. Downward the ladder is gentle: a quarter separates Field-Tested from Battle-Scarred, so going lower saves very little.
Getting the AK-47 | The Outsiders
The rifle drops from the Gallery Case, which also fixes its collection.
A trade-up contract builds it from ten skins of the rank below, all from that same set. M4A4 | Turbine, P90 | Randy Rush and SSG 08 | Rapid Transit all serve as inputs. The Gallery set holds three Classified skins and the outcome is random, so this AK is one result in three. The craft works, though the float of the output follows from what went in.
Covert sits above it: ten Classified skins of the Gallery set return either a Glock-18 | Gold Toof or an M4A1-S | Vaporwave. Both are worth markedly more than the Classified tier, so those contracts run constantly, and the cheap Classified skins of the collection are spent as fuel.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | The Outsiders
The AK-47 | The Outsiders has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up as well, though no Souvenir packages were ever made for it: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.
A pale ground under rough graphics is a busy base, but not a loud one in color. Black stickers pick up the line of the drawings, while bright colored ones argue with them. The handguard and part of the stock are free, while the sides with the scenes are better left alone. Crafts in CS2 usually keep the same careless style, so stickers read as part of the story.
Who this wear suits
Buying the AK-47 | The Outsiders in Field-Tested is justified when:
- rough, scribbled art appeals more than a tidy finish;
- paying seven times over for a clean ground holds no interest;
- a pale AK is wanted for a Terrorist loadout.
The ground grays before the drawings fade, and at the top of the band the scenes look washed out. An even ground starts closer to 0.18.
