Description

The AK-47 | Uncharted in Field-Tested (FT): the sand base has already grayed at the edges, while the dark ornament on the flats reads in full. The band assigned to this grade is 0.15 to 0.38. The rank is Mil-Spec, and the rifle drops from the Prisma Case.

What the AK-47 | Uncharted looks like in Field-Tested

The base is warm, a brown sand tone, with a dark brown, almost black ornament of scrollwork and stylized mask faces over it. The ornament covers the side of the receiver, the handguard and the stock, while the top of the dust cover is left lighter. The barrel, gas tube and magazine stay dark metal, and bare metal takes up roughly half the weapon. There is no lettering in the art.

Wear moves in two directions in this grade. The sand base grays first on the handguard and stock edges, and thin scrollwork on raised parts goes before the larger blocks of ornament. The masks on the flat sides stay whole through it. At 0.15 the losses show only up close; at 0.38 the lightened edges are visible in the listing preview.

Where the AK-47 | Uncharted came from

The finish is the work of apel8 and came through the Steam Workshop. The Prisma Collection that carries it was released on March 13, 2019. In Valve's catalog of finishes the item is number 836.

What to check before buying

What separates one AK-47 | Uncharted listing from another:

  • the float: nearer 0.15 the sand tone is even, and by 0.38 the edges go gray;

  • stickers from the previous owner and a renaming of the rifle;

  • the thin scrollwork on the raised parts of the handguard.

The pattern repeats from listing to listing without variation. The number matters more than the label here, because the 0.15 to 0.38 stretch holds very different looks.

What the AK-47 | Uncharted costs in Field-Tested

The wear scale on this finish is cut off at 0.75 and never reaches one. By price the grades line up like this:

  • Factory New is about three times dearer;

  • Minimal Wear about a third dearer;

  • Well-Worn about a quarter dearer;

  • Battle-Scarred holds level, within three percent.

The order does not follow the order of wear: Well-Worn costs more than the cleaner Field-Tested, and the most rubbed grade runs even with it. All of that distance is measured in cents, so no rule should be drawn from it. There is one real step on the scale, the jump to Factory New.

Among Mil-Spec AK-47 finishes this one sits second from the bottom of seven in Field-Tested. Only AK-47 | Wintergreen costs less. Above it come AK-47 | Steel Delta, AK-47 | Elite Build and AK-47 | Green Laminate. The top of the rank belongs to AK-47 | Black Laminate.

Getting the AK-47 | Uncharted

The rifle drops from the Prisma Case, and no other case holds the finish. Its collection is the one the case carries.

A contract cannot build the Mil-Spec rank in this set, because nothing sits below it in the collection. The finish works as an input instead: ten Mil-Spec skins of the set return one Restricted skin. The outputs include Desert Eagle | Light Rail, MP5-SD | Gauss and UMP-45 | Moonrise.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Uncharted

The AK-47 | Uncharted has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up as well, though no Souvenir packages were ever made for it: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.

The ornament takes every flat surface except the top of the dust cover, and a small sticker gets lost in the scrollwork. The brown range accepts warm colors and kills cool ones: an orange or gold logo reads, a blue one sinks into the dark masks. The magazine and stock are what people leave free for a craft. On the grayed edges part of a sticker rubs away along with the base.

Who this wear suits

The AK-47 | Uncharted in Field-Tested is a sensible buy when at least one of these is true:

  • a calm brown AK is wanted for CS2 instead of a bright finish;

  • choosing by float matters, since listings inside 0.15 to 0.38 differ visibly;

  • the rifle is bought as the base for an inexpensive craft in warm colors.

For an even sand tone with no gray edges, look at Factory New. On the other rungs the extra money changes the look very little.
