AK-47 | Vulcan (Factory New)

In Factory New, the AK-47 | Vulcan keeps its white panels unmarked and its pale blue inserts bright. Float on the AK-47 | Vulcan in this wear runs from 0.00 to 0.07. Factory New (FN) holds eight percent of a scale that reaches 0.90. The rank is Covert, and the finish belongs to the Huntsman Collection.

What the AK-47 | Vulcan looks like in Factory New

The colors are laid out as bolted-on panels. Milky white runs over the handguard top, the receiver side and the magazine; everything else is dark gray and graphite. Pale blue appears three times only: a band on the dust cover behind the rear sight, a wedge on the receiver side, a wide stripe along the magazine.

White chevron notches run under the handguard and across the magazine, and an angular light-gray figure sits on the dark stock.

White is what dirties first: the handguard top, the receiver edge, the magazine ribs. The blue inserts gray a step later, and the dark parts barely register wear at all. Factory New is where the white reads as white. Copies of the AK-47 | Vulcan between 0.00 and 0.07 are hard to tell apart.

Where the AK-47 | Vulcan came from

This one is community work. jim´s posted it to the Steam Workshop on December 13, 2013 as "Vulcan: AK-47". His own note is about durability: he "put more effort into the durability mask this time", so the seams between sections would hold. Release date for the Huntsman collection and the AK-47 | Vulcan is May 1, 2014. Valve lists the finish as number 302 and calls it "a sports inspired design".

What to check before buying

What to look at when picking the AK-47 | Vulcan listing:

• the float inside 0.00–0.07, read at the handguard ribs;

• which version it is, since plain, StatTrak and Souvenir are three different items;

• The applied name and stickers that travel with this AK-47 | Vulcan.

Every AK-47 | Vulcan carries the same artwork, so there are no rare copies to hunt.

What the AK-47 | Vulcan costs in Factory New

The ladder below is steep. Minimal Wear costs about a third less. Field-Tested is roughly a third of the Factory New price, Well-Worn about a quarter, Battle-Scarred under a fifth.

Among Covert AK-47s in Factory New it sits in the upper third, with sixteen of twenty-four below it. AK-47 | Leet Museo is level with it. AK-47 | Consequence of the Jinn and AK-47 | AUTOEXEC stand a step higher, while AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel asks around two thirds as much.

Getting the AK-47 | Vulcan

The Huntsman Weapon Case is the source, this rifle its Covert item. A trade-up for the AK-47 | Vulcan wants ten skins one tier below, all from this collection. That same Covert rank also feeds the gold-item contract, which here yields the ★ Huntsman Knife.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Vulcan

The AK-47 | Vulcan has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up as well, though no Souvenir packages were ever made for it: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.

The receiver side carries a flat white panel, a clean field rare on a Covert rifle. Dark stickers cut against it, pale ones vanish. The blue inserts set the accent, so cool crafts hold and warm ones read as noise. On a Factory New copy nothing shows through at a sticker's edges.

Who this wear suits

The AK-47 | Vulcan in Factory New pays off if:

• the white panels are the point and should stay white;

• you would rather not sort previews, since copies match;

• the rifle is kept rather than played.

One step down, Minimal Wear costs about a third less and the white dulls only at the handguard ribs.
