Description

The AK-47 | Wintergreen in Field-Tested (FT) is a plain two-color paint job at entry-level money. The float band of the grade runs 0.15 to 0.38. The rank is Mil-Spec; the rifle belongs to The Boreal Collection and never went into a case. Among the set's Mil-Spec skins this one is noticeably dearer than the rest, by threefold and more.

What the AK-47 | Wintergreen looks like in Field-Tested

Stock and handguard are painted dark brown, while receiver, grip and barrel carry a solid green. There is no artwork at all, only two fields of flat color divided along the rifle's parts. In Field-Tested the wear settles on the raised edges and on the magazine: the green there goes dull and turns swampy. Brown parts age less visibly, the dark shade hiding scuffs. Near the top of the band pale metal comes through at the corners.

What to check before buying

A listing of the AK-47 | Wintergreen is judged on two points:

  • the float, which on a flat fill reads through the strength of the green rather than through chips;

  • the stickers already applied to the listing, and the name tag.

There is no pattern roll, and every copy is alike.

The 0.15 to 0.38 band leaves room to choose: at its lower edge the wear is barely begun.

What the AK-47 | Wintergreen costs in Field-Tested

The grades of the AK-47 | Wintergreen do not line up in order:

  • Factory New asks about six and a half times as much;

  • Minimal Wear about two and a half times as much;

  • Well-Worn is dearer by around a fifth, though it looks worse;

  • Battle-Scarred is cheaper by around a sixth.

The reason Well-Worn outprices the cleaner Field-Tested: it covers 0.38 to 0.45, while Field-Tested takes nearly a third of the scale. For a buyer that means going below Field-Tested gains nothing.

Getting the AK-47 | Wintergreen

The rifle is in no case: The Boreal Collection was never packed into one, and the set is given out as a drop for hours played. The collection was released on March 31, 2025.

The rifle can be built with a trade-up contract. A contract returns a rank above its inputs, and this collection holds both Industrial Grade and Consumer Grade finishes below Mil-Spec. Ten Industrial Grade skins from the set return one Mil-Spec, and the set holds five of those, so the odds of landing this rifle are one in five.

As an input, though, the skin is in demand. Ten such rifles return one Restricted skin from the set, either Glock-18 | Glockingbird or M4A4 | Sheet Lightning. Ten Restricted ones in turn become AWP | Green Energy, the collection's only Classified finish, so that result is known before the contract goes in. Wear on the output follows the wear of the inputs, which is why the most battered copies are the ones fed into trade-ups.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Wintergreen

No StatTrak version of the AK-47 | Wintergreen was ever released. Souvenir copies do turn up, but no Souvenir packages were made for this finish: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.

A solid green fill is a quiet background that shows almost any sticker. White and yellow read best on it, red gives the sharpest contrast. Green stickers merge into the body and are rarely chosen. The skin is cheap, so an expensive craft hardly ever lands on it, while a trial one does readily.

Who this wear suits

Buying the AK-47 | Wintergreen in Field-Tested is reasonable when at least one of these holds:

  • the cheapest colored AK for CS2 is what is wanted;

  • a terrorist loadout in green and brown is being put together;

  • cheap inputs are needed for the contract toward AWP | Green Energy.

A two-color fill looks modest in CS2 and loses to graphic skins in screenshots. Inside a loadout, on the other hand, it argues with nothing.
