AK-47 | X-Ray (Factory New)

The AK-47 | X-Ray in Factory New (FN) is the cleanest version of the Covert AK from The Havoc Collection, with a float from 0.00 to 0.07. The skin appeared on December 3, 2020, when the collection was added to the game. It has no StatTrak™ version, and no CS2 case contains it. Three Covert AK-47s sit above it on price.

What the AK-47 | X-Ray looks like in Factory New

Valve writes of a paint job that shows the weapon with its insides on display. It adds that once everything is out in the open, you may not like what you see. On the model it is an orange-red fill with a see-through effect. The stock is light, amber-gold. The handguard and receiver are darker, shading to red, with paler outlines of the parts showing through. The magazine is translucent, with transverse ribs. The skin has no colors other than orange, red and gold.

In Factory New the fill is untouched by wear, and the outlines of the interior read cleanly, with no pale bare patches on the edges. Float is set at the moment the item drops, so a copy near zero will look the same years from now.

What to check before buying

Where copies of the AK-47 | X-Ray differ comes down to this:

• float: the X-Ray sits within 0.00 to 0.07, which is 7% of the skin's scale, and there is little to hunt for inside that band;

• an applied name tag and stickers, if they are already on this AK-47 | X-Ray;

• the edges of the handguard and receiver, which show whether wear has touched the upper edge.

The artwork on the AK-47 | X-Ray does not vary, so pattern plays no part in the choice.

What the AK-47 | X-Ray costs in Factory New

Below Factory New, the other wears step down like this:

• Minimal Wear by 1.7 times;

• Field-Tested by almost 3 times;

• Well-Worn by almost 4 times;

• Battle-Scarred by almost 5 times.

Twenty-four Covert AK-47s have a price in this wear. Only three cost more: AK-47 | Fire Serpent (by about a third), AK-47 | Gold Arabesque (by a few percent) and AK-47 | Wild Lotus. The other twenty are cheaper, and the nearest of them, AK-47 | AUTOEXEC, by a factor of three. The floor of the rank is set by AK-47 | Legion of Anubis.

Getting the AK-47 | X-Ray

Cases do not carry the AK-47 | X-Ray. A trade-up for it takes ten Classified skins one step down, all from this collection. Havoc has only one Covert skin, and AWP | Silk Tiger and MAC-10 | Hot Snakes stand a rank below, so the outcome of the contract is known in advance.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The AK-47 | X-Ray has no StatTrak™ edition. There were no souvenir packages for this finish either, since those were made only for tournament map collections. A souvenir copy can still be built by hand: the Souvenir-O-Matic puts golden tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory. That is why a stray souvenir copy occasionally turns up even where no packages ever existed.

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | X-Ray

The fill is warm and continuous, so red and orange stickers get lost in it. White-and-blue and black ones give contrast. The lightest, most even area is the stock, where a sticker shows better than on the dark red handguard.

Who this wear suits

Factory New is the right pick for the AK-47 | X-Ray when:

• you want an AK with an untouched warm fill for CS2;

• the outlines of the interior on the receiver need to read without worn edges;

• the skin is going into a set from The Havoc Collection as its cleanest wear.
