The AWP | Black Nile in Field-Tested (FT) costs less than any of the other four wears. You can buy it with a float from 0.15 to 0.38. It is Mil-Spec rank, and the finish belongs to the Anubis Collection rather than to a weapon case. There are no Egyptian motifs in the artwork, whatever the name suggests.
What the AWP | Black Nile looks like in Field-Tested
The rifle is dark, nearly black. A scrolling floral ornament, set in a slightly lighter tone, runs over the side of the receiver and the stock, and it only shows up in highlights. Brass picks out the small parts: the collar by the muzzle brake, the front ring of the scope, the bipod hinge and the rim in the stock window. The barrel, the optic and the bipod itself stay dark metal, and the stock drifts toward olive. There are no figures, lettering or numbers on this finish.
At this wear, scuffing hits the brass on the protruding parts first, then the stock edges and the buttplate. The ornament itself barely suffers: on the dark ground wear looks like light metal along an edge, not like a hole in the artwork. That is why Field-Tested differs less from the cleaner wears here than it does on light finishes.
Where the AWP | Black Nile came from
The finish was designed by a Steam Workshop artist who goes by SayChains. He posted the submission on December 17, 2021 under a different name, "AWP | STRONE". The skin received its current name only at release.
The AWP | Black Nile entered the game on April 24, 2023. Valve built a set of nineteen finishes around a map that had just joined the Active Duty pool. In the Valve finish catalog the rifle is number 1239.
What to check before buying
Before paying, check the following:
- the float: on a black ground, wear gathers along the edges rather than across the flat surfaces;
- the brass on the collar by the muzzle and on the front ring of the scope;
- what the previous owner left on the AWP | Black Nile: stickers and a name tag.
On this skin the pattern index makes no difference to the look.
The wear covers 0.15 to 0.38, which is enough for the extreme listings to differ by eye.
What the AWP | Black Nile costs in Field-Tested
The ratios to the other wears are as follows:
- Factory New runs to roughly five times the price;
- Minimal Wear adds about sixty percent;
- Well-Worn adds about a quarter;
- Battle-Scarred adds about a fifth.
So the cheapest point here is the middle of the scale, not its end. For a dark finish that makes sense: on black, the difference between FT and Battle-Scarred is hard to see, and the middle wear looks tidier.
This AWP has five Mil-Spec finishes, and the AWP | Black Nile is second from the bottom by price among them. Acheron, Capillary and Arsenic Spill are several times cheaper, while Snake Camo costs an order of magnitude more.
Getting the AWP | Black Nile
The main source is the Anubis Collection set: no separate weapon case with this finish was ever released. The AWP | Black Nile is also built through a trade-up contract of ten skins one tier below, all from the same set.
StatTrak and Souvenir
No StatTrak version of the AWP | Black Nile was released, but a Souvenir version exists.
Stickers and craft on the AWP | Black Nile
A black base suits stickers: any color reads on it except black. The brass accents set the palette, so gold and beige stickers look like a continuation of the finish. The stock and the side of the receiver nearer the buttplate are free, and the ornament is fine enough that a sticker does not spoil it.
Who this wear suits
Buying the AWP | Black Nile in Field-Tested makes sense in these cases:
- you want a dark AWP for CS2 with no bright graphics or lettering;
- it matters that wear does not catch the eye;
- you want the most affordable wear of the skin rather than the cleanest.
Dark finishes in CS2 barely stand out in a fight, and a rifle like this draws no attention. The look also changes little between wears, so there is not much point in paying five times as much for a clean float.
