The AWP | Chrome Cannon in Field-Tested (FT) carries a mirrored body, and wear on it reads as clouding rather than as chipping. The band here is 0.15 to 0.38. The rank is Covert; the rifle drops from the Kilowatt Case, and The Kilowatt Collection opened in the game on February 6, 2024.
What the AWP | Chrome Cannon looks like in Field-Tested
A mirror coat covers the body, multicolored accents run over it, and the scope is finished as carbon. The mirror reflects its surroundings, so the rifle changes color from map to map: warm on the dusty ones, nearly black in dark interiors. In Field-Tested the mirrored layer loses its polish on the edges of the barrel and on the scope mount, where a matte haze sets in. The carbon scope hardly takes wear, since its texture is uneven to begin with.
What to check before buying
Listings differ from one another on two points only:
- the float, which tells how much mirror shine is left on the raised parts;
- a name tag, and whatever stickers the previous owner left on the rifle.
The artwork is the same on every copy, and rare examples do not exist here.
One grade name covers the stretch from 0.15 to 0.38, where neighboring listings look different.
What the AWP | Chrome Cannon costs in Field-Tested
The neighboring grades price out like this:
- Factory New runs about two and a half times above;
- Minimal Wear about a fifth above;
- Well-Worn a couple of percent below;
- Battle-Scarred about a twentieth below.
The three lower grades stand almost level, and the spread between them will not ruin a buyer. The jump to Factory New is the sharp one, and it buys a single thing: the untouched mirror the skin was made for.
Getting the AWP | Chrome Cannon
The rifle comes out of the Kilowatt Case, and the collection behind the skin is the same one.
A contract for it takes ten skins a rank below, all from that set. M4A1-S | Black Lotus, Zeus x27 | Olympus or USP-S | Jawbreaker will do. The collection holds two Covert skins, so the odds of landing the rifle are one in two. Wear of the result is calculated from the wear of the inputs.
From there the skin goes into a knife craft, and this set is an unusual one. The rare special item in Kilowatt is a single model, the Kukri Knife. Which finish comes out stays unknown in advance, but the knife itself is not in question.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the AWP | Chrome Cannon
The AWP | Chrome Cannon has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up as well, though no Souvenir packages were ever made for it: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.
A mirrored base is the worst background a sticker could ask for: it reflects everything around it, so the work looks stuck on rather than part of the body. If a craft is wanted anyway, dense opaque stickers are the pick, black or white for preference. Holo and foil ones compete with the mirror head-on. More often this rifle is kept clean in CS2, since a chrome body already looks expensive on its own.
Who this wear suits
Field-Tested on the AWP | Chrome Cannon is worth buying if:
- a mirrored rifle is wanted for CS2 and the top of the scale is not worth paying for;
- light matting on the edges is acceptable, as a round barely shows it;
- a wide choice of copies under one grade name matters.
The mirror is the whole point of the skin, and the mirror is what this grade costs you first. For clean shine along the full length, look at Minimal Wear, which asks only about a fifth more.
