AWP | Containment Breach (Battle-Scarred)

Battle-Scarred (BS) is the cheapest of the five wears of the AWP | Containment Breach. The rank is Covert, the rifle drops from the Shattered Web Case, and in CS2 both sides can use it. Factory New costs seven and a half times as much as Battle-Scarred, while Well-Worn costs only a tenth more.

What the AWP | Containment Breach looks like in Battle-Scarred

The rifle is a dark olive-gray, with acid-green drips running down it. Most of the paint sits on the pistol grip and the cheek of the stock; a lime ring lies around the scope objective, and green flecks show on the turrets. The barrel, muzzle brake and bipod are bare metal, and the magazine is dark gray with green smears. A green figure of three petals is drawn on the butt plate, and the stenciled marking on the grip is pale yellow and cannot be read.

The ribs take the worst of it in Battle-Scarred, and the drips stop short where they meet them. The edges of the receiver, the edge of the cheek piece and the butt plate lighten first, and the ring around the objective breaks up. The large green patches on the flat parts of the stock and grip last longer. Wear is set when the skin drops, and anywhere between 0.45 and 1.00 the difference can be big.

Where the AWP | Containment Breach came from

apel8 is credited with the design. It was Rremarin who put the submission on the Steam Workshop, on April 18, 2018, titled "AWP | Virus", so the skin reached the game under a different name. The Shattered Web Collection came out on November 18, 2019, and the AWP | Containment Breach has been part of it since release. The finish is number 887 in Valve's catalog.

What to check before buying

Before taking an AWP | Containment Breach, look at these points:

• the float: here it runs from 0.45 to 1.00, which covers 55% of the skin's scale. The stretch is long, and the copies at its ends differ visibly;


• the condition of the lime ring at the objective and of the butt plate;


• whether the AWP | Containment Breach carries stickers and a name tag.

The AWP | Containment Breach has no pattern variants, so there is nothing to select by.

What the AWP | Containment Breach costs in Battle-Scarred

The closest finishes sit slightly lower: AWP | Neo-Noir, AWP | Printstream and AWP | Queen's Gambit. The cheapest in the rank are AWP | Chromatic Aberration and AWP | Hyper Beast. At the top the rank moves into another price class: AWP | The Prince, AWP | Dragon Lore and AWP | Gungnir.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The AWP | Containment Breach does have a StatTrak version in the game. No Souvenir packages were issued for this finish, but you can build a souvenir copy yourself through the Souvenir-O-Matic.

Stickers and craft on the AWP | Containment Breach

The dark body shows light stickers well. Yellow and lime ones fit the palette of the drips, while red ones fall out of it. In Battle-Scarred the paint on the ribs is already knocked off, so stickers on the receiver sit on bare metal. The most even places for a craft are the side of the receiver below the drips and the flat of the stock.

Who this wear suits

The AWP | Containment Breach in Battle-Scarred is the one to buy if at least one of these holds:

• you want a green AWP for CS2 without the factory price, and wear in combat goes unnoticed;


• you want to choose a copy by float: the stretch from 0.45 to 1.00 lets you pick the look;


• the rifle is going to take a sticker craft on dark metal.
