AWP | Containment Breach (Minimal Wear)

Second from the top among the wears of the AWP | Containment Breach is Minimal Wear (MW). Field-Tested costs nearly half as much, and Factory New costs three times as much. The rank is Covert, the rifle comes in the Shattered Web Case, and in CS2 both sides can use it. The skin has the full float range, and Minimal Wear takes 8% of the scale.

What the AWP | Containment Breach looks like in Minimal Wear

The base of the rifle is a dark olive-gray, with bright lime drips running down it from the top. They flood the receiver, the stock and the grip, and the densest layer lies on the pistol grip and the cheek of the stock. A lime ring circles the scope objective, and green flecks are scattered over the turrets and the tube. The barrel, bipod and rail stayed dark metal.

Wear in Minimal Wear is light, and the drips are still intact almost everywhere. The most prominent spots show it first: the edges of the receiver, the edge of the cheek piece, and the butt plate, where the three-petal figure is drawn. The lime ring on the rim of the objective also grays before the large patches on the flats do. Wear is fixed at the drop, so a listing looks exactly the way it does in its photo.

Where the AWP | Containment Breach came from

apel8 drew the finish; on the Steam Workshop, Rremarin's submission of April 18, 2018 is titled "AWP | Virus". A line in the in-game description about unknown radioactive diseases nearly repeats the author's text word for word. The Shattered Web Collection with this skin came out on November 18, 2019, and the AWP | Containment Breach arrived with the same update. Its number in Valve's catalog is 887.

What to check before buying

When choosing an AWP | Containment Breach, compare:

• the float: the wear is given the band from 0.07 to 0.15, and picking by float is pointless because the spread is so small;

• what the previous owner left on the AWP | Containment Breach, stickers and a name tag;

• the edges of the receiver and the lime ring: within this band they are not yet worn down.

All copies share one drawing, so no pattern is better than another.

What the AWP | Containment Breach costs in Minimal Wear

Against the other wears the ratios are:

• Factory New costs 3 times as much;

• Field-Tested is 1.84 times cheaper;

• Well-Worn is 2.27 times cheaper;

• Battle-Scarred is 2.5 times cheaper.

Of the twenty Covert AWPs with a price at this wear, seven are cheaper and twelve are dearer. AWP | LongDog stands a fifth higher. AWP | Man-o'-war is level, AWP | Queen's Gambit slightly lower, and AWP | Wildfire and AWP | Printstream noticeably lower. The cheapest in the rank are AWP | Chromatic Aberration and AWP | Neo-Noir. Above them AWP | Medusa towers, while AWP | Dragon Lore costs tens of times more.

Getting the AWP | Containment Breach

The main route is the Shattered Web Case. A contract for the AWP | Containment Breach is assembled like this: ten skins of the rank below, all from one collection. The collection has two Covert skins, so the AWP comes up as one outcome of two.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The AWP | Containment Breach also comes with StatTrak. No Souvenir packages were issued for this finish. You can still build a souvenir copy yourself, because the Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from the inventory.

Stickers and craft on the AWP | Containment Breach

The drips lie in patches, and dark areas remain between them. These are the best places for stickers, since a sticker there does not fight the green. Yellow and lime ones fit the design, and red ones fall out of the palette. The side of the receiver below the drips and the flat of the stock are free.

Who this wear suits

The AWP | Containment Breach in Minimal Wear makes sense when:

• you want an AWP for CS2 with intact edges but without the factory price;

• the lime ring by the objective needs to stay closed;

• it matters that the band from 0.07 to 0.15 is short: two listings look almost the same.
