The AWP | Containment Breach in Well-Worn (WW) covers a narrow band, 0.38 to 0.45, where the green drips on the dark base are already scuffed. The band for this wear lies between 0.38 and 0.45. Covert rank. The AWP is part of the Shattered Web Collection and drops from the Shattered Web Case.
What the AWP | Containment Breach looks like in Well-Worn
The finish is a dark rifle flooded with acid-green drips, as if paint were running from top to bottom. The receiver, stock and grip are dark, with bright lime streaks and spatter. A lime ring runs around the objective of the scope, and a green three-lobed figure can be made out at the butt plate. The barrel and the bipod stay bare dark metal.
According to Valve's description, the artwork shows mutated rats trying to escape a radioactive forest of neon green, and nobody knows which diseases they carry.
In Well-Worn the drips break off at the ribs. The edges of the receiver, the edge of the stock's cheek, the butt plate and the lime ring on the rim of the objective lose paint first. Broad green patches on the stock and grip stay in place longer than anything else. The span 0.38 to 0.45 is short: the difference between listings drops into the margin of error.
Where the AWP | Containment Breach came from
On the Steam Workshop the work was titled "AWP | Virus", and the submission was posted by Rremarin on April 18, 2018. By the author's own text, it is the fourth part of the "dark pact" series. The artwork is designed specifically for the shape of the AWP, on the basis of the updated weapon parts.
The skin appeared on November 19, 2019, when the Shattered Web Collection was added to the game. It is finish number 887 in Valve's catalog, and in the update note Valve tells of four new knives that lie in the same case.
What to check before buying
Choosing a listing of the AWP | Containment Breach comes down to these parameters:
- float: the band takes up 7% of the finish's scale, and inside it listings barely differ;
- the edges of the receiver and the cheek of the stock, where the green paint leaves first;
- the name tag and stickers this AWP already wears.
Every copy carries the same pattern, so a copy cannot be chosen by pattern.
What the AWP | Containment Breach costs in Well-Worn
The other wears relative to this one:
- Factory New runs to almost seven times the price;
- Minimal Wear comes to over twice the price;
- Field-Tested costs about 20% more;
- Battle-Scarred is cheaper by a few percent.
The most visible gap lies between Factory New and Minimal Wear, and the three lower wears cost close to one another.
Rank the Covert AWPs by price in this wear, and the finish lands in the middle of the list. Slightly above it is Queen's Gambit. Below it are Wildfire, Neo-Noir and Printstream.
Getting the AWP | Containment Breach

StatTrak and Souvenir
A StatTrak version of the AWP | Containment Breach exists. No Souvenir package was ever released for this finish. You can still build a souvenir copy yourself: the Souvenir-O-Matic applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to a normal skin.
Stickers and craft on the AWP | Containment Breach
The background is dark, with bright green paint. Green and black stickers continue the finish, while contrasting yellow and white ones work as accents and read well on the dark receiver.
The drips lie unevenly, so a sticker on a dense green patch is less visible than one on a dark area. For a craft it is easier to pick spots where the paint is sparse.
Who this wear suits
Buying the AWP | Containment Breach in Well-Worn makes sense for these reasons:
- you want an acid-green finish with a Workshop story at a price below Minimal Wear;
- the scuffing on the edges does not bother you, and the band 0.38 to 0.45 suits you;
- the AWP goes into CS2 matches, where bright green is distinguishable from far away.
If you want clean green and untouched edges, take Factory New: it costs almost seven times as much.
