AWP | Corticera in Field-Tested (FT) is the most worn form in which this finish exists at all. The skin's float ceiling is 0.30, so there is no Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred version, and the Field-Tested band takes every value from 0.15 to 0.30. It is Classified rank, from The eSports 2014 Summer Collection. This CS2 AWP exists in only three wears: Factory New, Minimal Wear and Field-Tested.
What the AWP | Corticera looks like in Field-Tested
The base is dark blue, the barrel is black, and there is a blue ring at the muzzle. The pattern is concentrated in the rear half. At the buttstock and on the back of the receiver, stems in a bright lime green intertwine, veined with gold and turquoise. Toward the handguard the ornament thins out into fine shoots, and the front of the rifle stays almost clean. A row of light marks runs along the side of the receiver.
In this wear, scuffing hits the edges of the receiver and the buttplate. The thin gold veins break up before the large green patches do, so the ornament loses its shine but not its shape.
Where the AWP | Corticera came from
Valve drew the AWP | Corticera itself, and the Steam Workshop has no submission for it. The eSports 2014 Summer Collection was released on July 10, 2014, and the skin has been in the set since it came out. In Valve's catalog the finish is number 181.
What to check before buying
When picking an AWP | Corticera listing, this matters:
- float: the upper bound of 0.30 matches the finish's ceiling, and the skin does not come any worse than that;
- the receiver edges and the buttplate, where the gold veining lightens first;
- the name tag and stickers already applied, which the AWP | Corticera keeps on the listing.
Copies of the AWP | Corticera differ in wear alone, since the artwork is shared.
What the AWP | Corticera costs in Field-Tested
The finish has only three wears, and the comparison looks like this:
- Factory New costs almost five times more;
- Minimal Wear costs the same, with a difference of under three percent.
The finish occupies the 0.06 to 0.30 scale, and Field-Tested takes 62% of it, that is 0.15 out of 0.24. Minimal Wear costs as much and carries less wear, so the listings of the two wears are worth comparing with each other.
Among Classified AWPs in this wear, the skin is a little cheaper than the AWP | Crakow! and the AWP | Electric Hive. Below it come the AWP | Fever Dream and the AWP | Elite Build.
Getting the AWP | Corticera
The AWP | Corticera is in the eSports 2014 Summer Case, and the skin's collection is the same one.
Ten skins from the rank below in this set can be exchanged for the AWP | Corticera. The skin itself goes into a contract for the AK-47 | Jaguar or the M4A4 | Bullet Rain.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The AWP | Corticera has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were ever released for this finish. A souvenir copy can still be built by hand: the Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin.
Stickers and craft on the AWP | Corticera
The dark blue background takes gold, orange and white stickers, which stand apart from both the base and the green ornament. Green and turquoise stickers blend into the stems at the buttstock.
Who this wear suits
Buying the AWP | Corticera in Field-Tested makes sense under these conditions:
- you want a blue skin with a gold-and-green ornament and no surcharge for clean paint;
- for CS2, the pattern matters more to you than the state of the edges;
- you choose the float by number, and the upper bound of 0.30 suits you.
If you need untouched paint, look at Factory New: the gap there is almost fivefold.
