AWP | Dragon Lore (Factory New)

AWP | Dragon Lore in Factory New (FN) is the most expensive copy of the best-known AWP in CS2. The rank is Covert. The skin has never sat in a case: it dropped only from Souvenir packages of the Cobblestone map.

What the AWP | Dragon Lore looks like in Factory New

The foundation is olive green, covering receiver, handguard and stock. The main figure lies on the flat receiver side: an orange-gold dragon with open jaws and a coiling body, gold ornament around it. Diamond scales in orange and gold run the barrel's length, turning to dark metal at the muzzle. Bipod and scope top are olive-gold, the stock carries a pale panel with a faint ornament.

The palette is warm and rests on two pairs: olive base, orange gold over it. Only the barrel front and the scope mount are unpainted.

In this grade no line of the ornament is broken and the gold on the scope keeps its shine. That is the whole difference from the lower grades. The artwork is identical on every copy, and on rubbed ones the dragon's thin coils break at the receiver edges.

Where the AWP | Dragon Lore came from

Valve drew the finish itself; it is number 344 in the catalog and came out on July 1, 2014. No ordinary case ever held it. It reached players through Souvenir packages of the Cobblestone map handed to tournament viewers, ten in all, from ESL One Cologne 2014 to Boston 2018. After the map left the active pool, no further packages were produced.

Two consequences follow. Souvenir copies with team stickers and player signatures are a separate matter at their own price, at times tens of times higher. Supply will not be topped up: the source is shut.

What to check before buying

• the version of the listing, since the plain and the Souvenir are different items;

• the float: the spread within 0.00–0.07 is minor, yet buyers at this level study it anyway;

• stickers and a name tag, if the listing is a Souvenir one.

No pattern spread exists: the dragon lands the same way on all copies.

What the AWP | Dragon Lore costs in Factory New

By this skin's standards the grade gaps are modest. Minimal Wear is about a quarter cheaper, Field-Tested close to half, and Battle-Scarred roughly half as well. Even the bottom grade costs half the clean one, unusual for a Covert skin, where the spread is normally wider.

Among Covert rifles here Dragon Lore is second of nineteen by price, with only AWP | Gungnir above it and not by much. Below, the drop is sharp: Medusa costs less than half, The Prince about a quarter, and Fade, another well-known rifle, some twenty times less.

Getting the AWP | Dragon Lore

A ready listing is the only route. Souvenir packages are no longer produced, and a contract would yield this skin only from the M4A1-S | Knight, the collection's single Classified.

StatTrak and Souvenir

No StatTrak version of the AWP | Dragon Lore exists; a Souvenir release does.

Stickers and craft on the AWP | Dragon Lore

The background is warm and fully occupied, so stickers work badly: each one argues with the dragon. On plain copies craft is rare, and on Souvenir ones the team stickers come applied and cannot be removed.

Who this wear suits

Factory New is the buy when:

• an untouched copy is the point, not a working rifle for CS2;

• a closed source matters, with no new copies to come;

• the skin goes into a collection where Factory New and Field-Tested differ.

In play the difference between them barely registers, and it costs twice as much. For CS2 this is not a purchase about looks.
