This is the AWP | Dragon Lore in Field-Tested (FT), and it is the working middle of the scale: the dragon is intact, the gilding on the edges already going. The AWP | Dragon Lore is bounded by 0.15 and 0.38 at this wear. Covert rank, The Cobblestone Collection, and no ordinary case ever held it.
What the AWP | Dragon Lore looks like in Field-Tested
The body is olive green, the barrel orange-gold in diamond scales that fade to dark metal. Receiver and handguard are olive under gold work, and the dragon on the left side is bright orange over a yellow glow. The stock is olive with gold plates and a pale panel. Only the barrel's front and the scope mount stay unpainted.
The dragon reads whole: head, open jaws, curling body. No lettering appears anywhere, and the ornament on the stock panel is too faint to resolve. Gilding leaves the raised edges first: the receiver top, the handguard lip, the butt plate, the barrel rings. The fine scales thin before the dragon does, since it lies on a flat panel. Field-Tested is that stage exactly.
Where the AWP | Dragon Lore came from
The AWP | Dragon Lore is Valve's own work, with no community submission attached. The AWP | Dragon Lore joined the game on July 1, 2014, when The Cobblestone Collection was added. Cobblestone itself opened to every player on February 6, 2014, as the note to that update says. Valve's text calls the artwork a knotwork dragon and signs off on 200 keys that could never unlock its secrets. The joke lands: no key opens a case holding it. The catalog number, 344, is among the oldest in the game.
What to check before buying
What to verify on the AWP | Dragon Lore listing before checkout:
- float, which decides more here than on most rifles;
- the scales along the barrel, first to thin;
- the stickers and name tag already applied to this AWP | Dragon Lore.
The artwork on the AWP | Dragon Lore is fixed, so float is the only lever on looks. Copies of the AWP | Dragon Lore between 0.15 and 0.38 range from nearly clean to visibly worn. Field-Tested covers about a third of the full scale, the widest grade here.
What the AWP | Dragon Lore costs in Field-Tested
Factory New asks close to twice this grade, Minimal Wear about two-fifths more. Below it the ladder flattens: Well-Worn is level, within a few cents, and Battle-Scarred only a quarter under — the money is in the two clean grades.
Among the nineteen Covert AWP finishes only one is dearer in this grade: Gungnir, by about a fifth. Then the gap — Medusa at around a third, The Prince a quarter, Desert Hydra a seventh.
Getting the AWP | Dragon Lore
No case drops it. Copies come from Cobblestone souvenir packages, ten in all, from Cologne 2014 through Boston 2018. You can craft the AWP | Dragon Lore instead: ten skins one tier below from this collection.
StatTrak and Souvenir
A Souvenir AWP | Dragon Lore exists. StatTrak does not, and never did.
Stickers and craft on the AWP | Dragon Lore
Four slots, all landing on olive and gold. Gold and orange stickers disappear into the scales; white, black and cold blue hold their edges. The flat left side is also the dragon's, so a sticker there competes with the one thing anyone looks at.
Who this wear suits
Pick the Field-Tested AWP | Dragon Lore when one of these is true:
- the dragon matters and the gilded edges do not;
- the two clean grades are out of reach;
- the rifle is played with, not inspected.
Float is worth filtering on: near 0.15 the scales are almost whole, near 0.38 the edges have gone gray.
