AWP | Duality (Factory New)

Factory New (FN) is the top rung of the AWP | Duality scale: a crimson flank and a pale medallion, with nothing rubbed off either one. Float here sits between 0.00 and 0.07. The rank is Classified, the rifle drops from the Revolution Case, and that collection went live on February 9, 2023.

What the AWP | Duality looks like in Factory New

The fill reaches the rim of every panel here, and the pale scrollwork runs end to end without a gap. Factory New is the only grade where that holds, and it is most of what the premium buys.

One color does the work, and it is a quiet one: a faded crimson flecked with raspberry that slips toward olive-brown where the panels turn. It covers the left flank of the receiver, the magazine well and the stock. Scope tube, bipod, trigger guard and magazine stay dark gray-olive metal.

Pale gray-white curls are strewn over the crimson, and a round medallion rides on the flank: a dark ring with two light commas mirrored inside it. Valve's item description speaks of a red snake and a gold one, yet the model shows neither scales nor heads.

What to check before buying

Three things are worth a look:

• float, which settles almost nothing inside this grade, the spread being tiny;

• a name tag and stickers on the body, which on an inexpensive AWP easily cost more than the rifle does;

• which version the listing is, since StatTrak and Souvenir copies trade as separate entries.

No rare pattern is waiting to be found: every copy prints the same art, and the narrow strip from 0.00 to 0.07 leaves one listing looking much like the next.

What the AWP | Duality costs in Factory New

The other grades line up below it:

• Minimal Wear costs about half;

• Field-Tested roughly a third;

• Well-Worn about a third as well;

• Battle-Scarred some three and a half times less.

The step down to Minimal Wear halves the price, and on screen the two sit close: the medallion stays readable and only the rims by the scope mount go light. A buyer who wants the rifle rather than a perfect listing is usually better off there.

Getting the AWP | Duality

The Revolution Case is where the rifle drops from, and its collection is the case's own.

A contract builds it too: ten skins a rank below, all out of that collection. Glock-18 | Umbral Rabbit, MAC-10 | Sakkaku, P90 | Neoqueen and R8 Revolver | Banana Cannon go in. Three Classified skins sit in the set, so the rifle comes out one time in three, in a wear that follows the inputs.

The skin feeds contracts of its own. Ten Classified skins from the Revolution Collection return one Covert skin, and the set holds two: AK-47 | Head Shot and M4A4 | Temukau. That contract rarely pays as a resale play, though this AWP does get used as a way into the Covert rank.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the AWP | Duality

The AWP | Duality has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up as well, though no Souvenir packages were ever made for it: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.

Crimson fill against bare metal is a contrasty base, and sticker colors have to be picked with care. Red and gold sink into the art, while white and light blue read well on it. Free room is on the stock and the barrel shroud; the flanks hold the whole story and are better left alone. A craft in CS2 wants an untouched base, which is why expensive sets go on Factory New.

Who this wear suits

Buy the AWP | Duality in this grade if:

• a clean base is needed under an expensive sticker craft;

• the unbroken curls matter, lower grades tearing them;

• the rifle is going into a collection rather than into daily CS2 matches.

That cleanliness costs twice what Minimal Wear asks, and not everyone will see the difference on screen. For a rifle meant to be played, Minimal Wear with the savings put into stickers goes further.
