Field-Tested (FT) puts the AWP | Duality in the middle of its scale. The rifle's own float runs from 0.00 to 0.80, and this grade is given the stretch from 0.15 to 0.38. The rank is Classified. The skin comes out of the Revolution Case.
What the AWP | Duality looks like in Field-Tested
Paint covers the side of the receiver, the magazine well and the stock. The color there is a dusty crimson red with raspberry patches, overlaid with pale gray-white scrollwork, and at the rims it drifts into olive-brown. Barrel, scope, bipod, trigger guard and magazine are left as bare dark metal.
The centerpiece is a round medallion with a dark outline on the side of the receiver, holding two mirrored light commas. Valve's description names two snakes, one red and one gold, one to each side of the rifle. Neither snake can be made out on the model, nor any lettering or numbers. The art reads as an abstract ornament, and the duality rests on that mirrored pair inside the medallion.
In Field-Tested the paint survives on the flats and is already breaking along the edges. The stock corners, the lip of the cheek rest and the rims of the grip go first. Thin white scrollwork rubs away before the fill does, being narrow lines, while the medallion lies on a flat side and lasts longest.
Where the AWP | Duality came from
The finish came out of the Steam Workshop, from an author who goes by Madara. He posted "AWP Duality (CS2 Updated)" on August 21, 2021. His own note explains the idea. Two different snakes underline the shape of the weapon, and the two sides stand for two natures: good and evil, day and night. The same submission proposed tying the pattern to wear, so gold elements would turn to iron on rubbed copies.
The Revolution Collection went live on February 9, 2023. Valve's announcement for it listed seventeen finishes by community artists, with Clutch Case gloves serving as the rare special item. The finish is number 1222 in Valve's catalog.
What to check before buying
Copies of the AWP | Duality differ in only a few ways:
- float: nearer 0.15 the edges are still clean, nearer 0.38 light metal is coming out on them;
- whether the white scrollwork is intact on the stock and by the cheek rest, the first places it parts;
- the stickers and name tag already sitting on that particular AWP | Duality.
The AWP | Duality prints the same art on every copy, and pattern plays no part in picking one.
What the AWP | Duality costs in Field-Tested
The neighboring grades give the scale:
- Factory New runs about three times higher;
- Minimal Wear about one and a half times;
- Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are cheaper by very little.
Among Classified AWPs this is the cheapest finish, with all twelve others above it. AWP | Mortis sits right behind. AWP | Green Energy and AWP | Ice Coaled cost more than double. AWP | The End and AWP | Elite Build ask about triple, and AWP | Silk Tiger goes dozens of times higher.
Getting the AWP | Duality
The first road is the Revolution Case. The second runs through a trade-up contract on ten skins one rank below, all taken from the same collection.
The rung under it holds Glock-18 | Umbral Rabbit, MAC-10 | Sakkaku, M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S, P90 | Neoqueen and R8 Revolver | Banana Cannon. Three Classified skins sit in the set, so the output is random and the odds on this AWP are one in three.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the AWP | Duality
The AWP | Duality has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up as well, though no Souvenir packages were ever made for it: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.
Paint reaches only the receiver and the stock, with the barrel and magazine bare, so stickers go on the painted part. Red and gold ones fall into the tone of the fill, while black and white give contrast on the crimson. Blue and green argue with that background.
Who this wear suits
Buying the AWP | Duality in this grade makes sense if:
- an inexpensive colored AWP for CS2 is the goal and clean edges are not the point;
- the float decides the look, since 0.15 to 0.38 is a long stretch in CS2;
- a StatTrak build is planned, the premium for it being small in this grade.
Any AWP | Duality bought here comes out of the 0.15 to 0.38 band, and the two ends of that band do not look alike.
