On the AWP | Elite Build, Field-Tested (FT) looks restrained: the dark base hides scuffs, while the orange marks on the raised parts are already knocked back. The band is 0.15 to 0.38. It is a Classified skin, and the rifle comes from the Operation Wildfire Case.
What the AWP | Elite Build looks like in Field-Tested
The body is graphite gray with black patches, and the barrel and scope are black. Orange picks out the ring at the muzzle, the screws on the scope, the bolt handle and small inserts on the receiver and stock. A light winged badge and several small inscriptions show on the receiver. There is no picture as such: the finish rests on a dark base and spot orange details laid out like technical markings.
The 0.15 to 0.38 band is wide: one wear label, different conditions. The orange accents on the raised parts go first, namely the muzzle ring, the screws and the bolt handle. Graphite hides scuffs, so up close it is the marks that give the difference away, while at a distance the AWP looks the same across the whole band.
Where the AWP | Elite Build came from
The Wildfire Collection dates from February 17, 2016. In Valve's catalog the artwork is number 525. The author is M1nD, the same Steam Workshop artist who made the Elite Build for the AK-47.
Operation Wildfire brought more than a case. In a post of February 25, 2016, Valve described a lighting and shader update that shipped with the operation and a new version of de_nuke.
What to check before buying
When picking an AWP | Elite Build listing, this is what counts:
- the float within 0.15 to 0.38: closer to the lower limit the orange marks are intact;
- the muzzle ring and scope screws, which give out before the base does;
- the previous owner's stickers and any rename on the AWP | Elite Build.
You cannot buy an AWP | Elite Build with a "rare" pattern: the artwork is the same on every copy.
What the AWP | Elite Build costs in Field-Tested
Factory New costs about five and a half times more, and that is the largest gap on this finish. Minimal Wear costs about two thirds more. Going down, the steps are small: Well-Worn is about an eighth cheaper, and Battle-Scarred about a ninth.
Among Classified AWPs priced in this wear, the finish is sixth from the bottom of thirteen. Right beside it are the AWP | Fever Dream above and the AWP | The End below, each within a tenth. The AWP | Duality is the cheapest in the rank, and the AWP | Silk Tiger the most expensive, at roughly fifteen times more.
Getting the AWP | Elite Build
The finish has one case, the Operation Wildfire Case, and no other case carries this artwork.
To get the AWP | Elite Build by trade-up, you hand in ten skins of the rank below from the same collection. The set has three Classified finishes, so the chance of landing the AWP is one in three.
StatTrak and Souvenir
A StatTrak version of the AWP | Elite Build exists. So do Souvenir copies, although the finish never had packages of its own: Souvenir packages were made solely for the tournament map collections. Those copies are made in the Souvenir-O-Matic, which applies gold tournament stickers and a player's autograph to a normal skin from your inventory.
Stickers and craft on the AWP | Elite Build
The graphite base takes stickers willingly: any color reads on it except black. There is a flat area on the stock and on the side of the receiver next to the winged badge. Orange stickers pick up the factory marks, and cool colors give contrast. Where the orange is already knocked back, the edge of a sticker lands on a gray patch.
Who this wear suits
A Field-Tested AWP | Elite Build makes sense if:
- you want a calm dark AWP for CS2 without paying five and a half times more for Factory New;
- the rifle is going into play rather than a CS2 showcase, since on graphite the wear barely reads;
- you want the orange accents intact at least on the receiver.
Toward 0.38 the muzzle ring and scope screws are visibly battered, and the saving against Well-Worn is under a tenth.
