In Field-Tested (FT) the AWP | Exothermic sits in the working middle of its scale: the red fill still runs even, while the edges have already been touched. The grade covers floats from 0.15 to 0.38, and the finish itself stops at 0.70. The rank is Restricted, the collection is The Harlequin Collection, and the skin appears in no case.
What the AWP | Exothermic looks like in Field-Tested
One paint covers the rifle: a deep red worked over with lighter red and pinkish fibrous strokes. It reaches the receiver, the stock, the grip and the scope tube along with the turret rings. The barrel, bipod, top rail, butt plate and lens rim are left as bare dark metal. Nothing is written or drawn on the body, and the flame the name promises is nowhere in the artwork.
Wear in this grade gathers on the receiver edges, the lip of the cheek rest, the ridge of the butt plate and the scope rings. With no figures or lettering to break up the surface, it reads purely as gray metal patches on red. The flats of the stock and the sides of the receiver keep an even tone longer than the rest. The float number tells you more here than the grade name, because 0.15 to 0.38 holds very different copies.
Where the AWP | Exothermic came from
No Workshop submission stands behind it: Valve drew the finish in house. The Harlequin Collection came out on January 21, 2026, and Valve's catalog numbers the artwork 1378.
Pattern variance on the AWP | Exothermic
The finish is applied as a film, and the pattern guide records pattern variance: the film settles differently on each body, so copies differ in where the strokes land. No source names a rare variant of this artwork, nor a premium paid for one. Comparing listings therefore means reading the preview, not a pattern index: look at how the strokes fall on the receiver side and the stock.
What to check before buying
What separates one listing from another:
- the float inside 0.15 to 0.38, since at 0.38 the metal breaks through on every edge at once;
- how the film settled, because the strokes run differently from copy to copy;
- whether stickers or a name tag are already on the rifle.
What the AWP | Exothermic costs in Field-Tested
Factory New asks roughly three and a half times as much, and Minimal Wear about three quarters more. Well-Worn is dearer by about a fifth despite carrying more scuffing. Against Battle-Scarred the gap comes down to a few cents, and the order between those two rests on a couple of listings rather than on any rule.
Among the ten Restricted AWP finishes this one stands fifth by price. Above it sit AWP | Black Box and AWP | Exoskeleton. Below it come AWP | Worm God, AWP | Phobos and AWP | Pit Viper.
Getting the AWP | Exothermic
The Harlequin Collection is handed out as a playtime drop, the set having been given no case of its own.
A contract is the other route: ten skins one rank below, all drawn from a single collection.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the AWP | Exothermic
No StatTrak version of the AWP | Exothermic was ever released. Souvenir copies do turn up, but no Souvenir packages were made for this finish: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.
The sticker field is unbroken: no lettering or figures compete with what goes on it. Room sits on the side of the receiver, on the stock and on the scope tube. Dark and light stickers read against the red, while maroon and scarlet vanish into it. Several edges are already rubbed in this grade, so a craft holds up better toward the middle of the side panel.
Who this wear suits
Buying the AWP | Exothermic in Field-Tested is reasonable when at least one of these is true:
- an AWP is wanted for CS2 without paying extra for untouched edges;
- picking a copy by its preview is acceptable, as the film lands unevenly;
- the rifle is headed into matches rather than into a CS2 showcase.
Toward 0.38 the gray metal comes through on every edge, so sorting by float earns its keep here.
