AWP | Oni Taiji (Field-Tested)

The AWP | Oni Taiji in Field-Tested (FT) is a dark rifle with all of its artwork gathered on the stock and the rear of the receiver. The rank is Covert, and the skin is part of the Operation Hydra Case and the Operation Hydra Collection. The wear band takes up 46% of the finish's scale, because the skin's float ceiling is 0.50. An AWP like this can be bought for CS2 with no surcharge for clean paint.

What the AWP | Oni Taiji looks like in Field-Tested

The barrel and scope tube are dark purple, the scope carries orange rings, and the forend and underside of the receiver are gray-black. The artwork does not run the full length. It is concentrated at the stock and the bolt, where inked graphics are laid down in red, orange and purple.

A light mask shows at the center of the receiver, and the stock carries a red demon face. Valve describes the subject as samurai and images of Oni demons. The middle of the wear scale keeps the artwork readable, with scuffs visible along the edges.

What to check before buying

Before buying the AWP | Oni Taiji, check the following:

• the float, which shows where a listing sits inside the wide band;

• the stock and the rear of the receiver, where the main artwork lives;

• the name tag and stickers this AWP | Oni Taiji already carries.

The pattern is the same on every copy of the AWP | Oni Taiji. Go by the float number rather than the wear label, since the 0.15 to 0.38 band is wide.

What the AWP | Oni Taiji costs in Field-Tested

The other wears against this one:

• Factory New costs more than double;

• Minimal Wear costs about a third more;

• Well-Worn costs about a seventh more.

Well-Worn is dearer than Field-Tested even though it looks worse. The ceiling of 0.50 squeezes the wear boundaries: Well-Worn takes only 0.38 to 0.45, and Battle-Scarred just 0.45 to 0.50.

Among Covert AWPs in this wear, the skin costs more than AWP | Man-o'-war, AWP | Sovereign Flame and AWP | Asiimov. More expensive than it are, among others, AWP | Medusa, AWP | Dragon Lore and AWP | Gungnir.

Getting the AWP | Oni Taiji

The AWP | Oni Taiji comes from the Operation Hydra Case, and the skin's collection is the same.

A trade-up fed ten skins one rank lower from this collection produces the AWP | Oni Taiji. It then moves on into a glove craft: the Hydra set has six glove models.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The AWP | Oni Taiji comes in a StatTrak version. No souvenir packages were released for this finish, but you can build a souvenir copy yourself: the Souvenir-O-Matic applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to an ordinary skin.

Stickers and craft on the AWP | Oni Taiji

From the front the rifle is dark and calm, so light and warm stickers read cleanest there. Near the stock the artwork is dense, and small stickers get lost in it.

Who this wear suits

The AWP | Oni Taiji is worth buying in this wear if:

• you want a dark AWP with colored artwork near the stock, not a bright fill over the whole body;

• a readable design matters more than flawless paint on the edges;

• you select the float by its figure, anywhere from 0.15 to 0.38.

Factory New suits anyone after untouched artwork, but the price there is more than double.
