For the AWP | Pit Viper, Minimal Wear (MW) is the cleanest of four wears, with a band of 0.08 to 0.15. Factory New does not exist for this skin, because the float starts at 0.08. It is a Restricted skin from The Italy Collection, with no case behind it. In CS2 this is an AWP in snakeskin hydrographics.
What the AWP | Pit Viper looks like in Minimal Wear
Green covers only the receiver, stock, grip and bipod; the scope, barrel and magazine are left dark. The whole artwork is fine viper scales, dark green speckles over a bright field. There are no large figures, lettering or logos, and the lime inserts on the stock, grip and bipod pick out the silhouette.
In Minimal Wear the fine scales on the sides are intact. If wear shows anywhere, it is on the most exposed points: the ribs of the receiver, the rim of the cheek piece and the lime bipod tips. For an AWP with this kind of mesh, this is the most cleanliness the skin offers.
Where the AWP | Pit Viper came from
The Steam Workshop has nothing to do with the AWP | Pit Viper: Valve drew the artwork itself. The finish's number in Valve's catalog is 251. The Italy collection opened in the game in November 2013, and the skin was there from day one.
What to check before buying
From one listing to the next, three things change:
- float: between 0.08 and 0.15 the look barely shifts, but toward 0.08 the edges are cleaner;
- where the scale pattern sits on the receiver;
- whatever stickers and name tag this particular AWP | Pit Viper copy carries.
Pattern variance on the AWP | Pit Viper
The artwork does vary: the hydrographic technique is applied with an offset, so two listings at the same float differ in where the scales fall. The source, csgoskins, answers "Pattern Variants: Yes" outright, but names no special variants.
What the AWP | Pit Viper costs in Minimal Wear
This is the dearest wear of the skin. Field-Tested is cheaper by 1.44 times, Well-Worn by 1.33 and Battle-Scarred by 1.38. The gaps among the lower three are small, and Minimal Wear stands above all of them.
Of the ten Restricted AWP rifles in this wear, the AWP | Pit Viper costs the least. Phobos and Worm God cost twice as much, PAW two and a half times, Exothermic three and a half.
Getting the AWP | Pit Viper
You can also get the skin through a contract: ten Mil-Spec skins from anywhere go in, and the collection of the result is set by one of the inputs. Otherwise there are the DreamHack 2013 and EMS One 2014 souvenir packages. The finish has no case.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The AWP | Pit Viper has no StatTrak version, but Souvenir packages exist.
Stickers and craft on the AWP | Pit Viper
A clean green receiver accepts stickers without loss: the pattern is fine and does not tear up the composition. In CS2, light and golden stickers that echo the lime work well.
Who this wear suits
Minimal Wear on the AWP | Pit Viper makes sense in these cases:
- you want the cleanest look the finish ever has;
- it matters that the scales read across the whole receiver;
- you need a flat green surface for stickers.
