AWP | Queen's Gambit in Factory New (FN) is the top edge of the finish's scale, where the gold on the receiver is hardly touched by wear. The float assigned to this wear is 0.00 to 0.07. The rank is Covert, and the AWP belongs to The Dead Hand Collection and comes from that collection's Sealed Dead Hand Terminal.
What the AWP | Queen's Gambit looks like in Factory New
The finish rests on two colors, gold and dark blue. The receiver and stock are covered in gold ornament, the barrel is dark blue with a fine light pattern, and the muzzle brake and scope housing are gold as well. Valve describes a painting in royal colors and mentions a queen drawn by hand in front of the stock.
In Factory New the gold reads in full: the edges of the receiver and the stock cheek are intact, and the barrel is one even tone. Wear is written into a copy at the moment it drops and does not grow afterward. The band from 0.00 to 0.07 is tight, and the copies at its extremes differ only by the number.
Where the AWP | Queen's Gambit came from
Valve released The Dead Hand Collection on March 11, 2026, and the AWP | Queen's Gambit has been part of the set since launch. According to Valve's note on the update, the collection holds seventeen finishes by community authors and twenty-two new glove models.
What to check before buying
What sets one AWP | Queen's Gambit listing apart from another:
- the float: within a narrow band, it is the only numeric difference between one copy and the next;
- the edges of the receiver and the stock cheek, where the gold sits on raised parts;
- whatever stickers and name tag the copy already wears.
Choosing by pattern does not exist here as such. The assembly of parts is identical on every copy, so what is left to look at is the float and whatever has already been applied.
What the AWP | Queen's Gambit costs in Factory New
The other wears relative to this one:
- Minimal Wear is half the price;
- Field-Tested is almost four times cheaper;
- Well-Worn is four times cheaper;
- Battle-Scarred is more than five times cheaper.
Factory New takes just 7% of the finish's scale: 0.07 of 1.00. The biggest price jump is the step from this band down to Minimal Wear, and beyond it the prices draw closer together.
Among Covert AWPs in this wear, the finish lies in the lower half of the row. AWP | Containment Breach costs more, while AWP | Printstream, AWP | Wildfire and AWP | Hyper Beast cost less.
Getting the AWP | Queen's Gambit
The skin sits in the Sealed Dead Hand Terminal. Besides the case, a trade-up of ten skins one step down from the same collection will give you AWP | Queen's Gambit. The collection holds two Covert skins, so the odds in a trade-up are one in two.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the AWP | Queen's Gambit
AWP | Queen's Gambit has a StatTrak version. Souvenir packages were not issued for this finish, but you can assemble a souvenir copy yourself: the Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin.
The palette is warm and cool at once: gold and a dark blue. Gold and blue stickers carry it on, while white and silver ones read well on the dark barrel.
The ornament on the receiver is busy, so small stickers with thin graphics get lost on the gold. Large stickers with a clear shape look cleaner in Factory New, because the background beneath them is even and unrubbed.
Who this wear suits
Factory New is a sound choice for an AWP | Queen's Gambit when:
- the gold has to look untouched, with no chips on the edges;
- you need a copy with a float close to 0.00 for a craft with expensive stickers;
- the AWP goes into CS2 matches as a showcase rifle.
If price matters more than clean gold, the wears further down the scale cost half as much and less.
