Description

AWP | Queen's Gambit in Field-Tested (FT) is the middle of the scale, where scuffs on the gold are already visible but the ornament still reads whole. Float values for this wear span 0.15 to 0.38. The rank is Covert; the finish belongs to The Dead Hand Collection, and its source is the Sealed Dead Hand Terminal of that same collection.

What the AWP | Queen's Gambit looks like in Field-Tested

The base is gold painting on the receiver and stock, paired with a dark blue barrel carrying a fine light pattern. The muzzle brake and scope housing stay gold. Valve calls the colors royal and says the queen is drawn by hand in front of the stock.

In Field-Tested the metal loses its shine. Gold along the edges of the receiver and the stock cheek dulls and rubs away, and the blue barrel looks flatter than on a fresh copy. Listings between 0.15 and 0.38 differ noticeably in looks: near the lower bound the gold is still solid, and near the upper the scuffs show at once.

Where the AWP | Queen's Gambit came from

AWP | Queen's Gambit appeared on March 11, 2026, when The Dead Hand Collection was added to the game. Alongside it Valve released sixteen more finishes by community authors, and with them twenty-two new glove models.

What to check before buying

When choosing an AWP | Queen's Gambit, buyers look at the following:

  • the float: the band takes almost a quarter of the finish's scale (0.23 of 1.00), so the number counts for more than the wear label;

  • the gold on the edges of the receiver and on the stock cheek, which shows whether a copy sits nearer 0.15 or 0.38;

  • the stickers and name tag this copy already carries.

The artwork is fixed and does not depend on the copy, so there is no special pattern to hunt for.

What the AWP | Queen's Gambit costs in Field-Tested

The other wears relative to this one:

  • Factory New costs almost four times what this wear does;

  • Minimal Wear costs almost twice as much;

  • Well-Worn is cheaper by a few percent;

  • Battle-Scarred is cheaper by about 30 percent.

The Field-Tested band is more than three times as wide as Factory New's, yet the price is several times lower. Only one step in float separates the top of this band from Well-Worn, and the price gap between the two is small.

Among Covert AWPs in this wear, the finish runs in the lower half of the row. It is almost level with AWP | LongDog and a little cheaper than AWP | Containment Breach, while AWP | Printstream and AWP | Wildfire cost less than it does.

Getting the AWP | Queen's Gambit

The skin drops from the Sealed Dead Hand Terminal. A trade-up takes it too: ten skins of the rank below from the collection are needed.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the AWP | Queen's Gambit

A StatTrak version of AWP | Queen's Gambit has been released. The finish has no Souvenir packages. A souvenir copy can still be assembled by hand, because the Souvenir-O-Matic hangs gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from the inventory.

On rubbed gold, stickers blend into the background more than they do on a new copy, because the ornament and chips compete with the artwork. Bright, large stickers whose outline holds the shape therefore suit a craft well.

The color logic is simple: gold and blue back up stickers in the same shades, and white and silver ones read on the dark barrel. The ornamented side of the receiver stays free as long as nobody else's stickers sit on it.

Who this wear suits

Field-Tested is worth choosing for an AWP | Queen's Gambit in three cases:

  • you want a recognizable gold finish, and traces of wear on the edges do not bother you;

  • the Factory New price does not fit, and Battle-Scarred is too rubbed;

  • the AWP goes into CS2 matches, where the finish is seen from a distance.

If the gold has to gleam, this is not the wear: a clean look is paid for in Factory New.
