Minimal Wear (MW) on the AWP | The Prince keeps the small gold fittings whole, and asks the same money as Battle-Scarred. The band here is 0.07–0.15, on a scale that stops at 0.60. The rank is Covert; the finish came with The Canals Collection, which has no ordinary case.
What the AWP | The Prince looks like in Minimal Wear
The finish has three gold fittings, all small. They are the muzzle brake collar, the front scope ring and the stock cutout rim. Narrow red inserts sit beside them at the magazine well and under the scope. The base is black graphite under a gold ornament that turns dark yellow in places. The ornament occupies three areas: stock, receiver side and the front third of the barrel. The barrel's middle and the scope body stay graphite.
Here all three fittings are in place, and the side-edge scrollwork is intact, wear only starting on its upper facets. The receiver flat is even, with no bald spots in the pattern. At the bottom of the band the rifle looks factory; by 0.15 the muzzle collar is the first thing to gray.
Where the AWP | The Prince came from
Valve drew the artwork; no Steam Workshop submission stands behind it. The Canals Collection, home of this rifle, came out on November 18, 2019. The skin holds number 736 in Valve's catalog.
What to check before buying
What gets checked before a purchase:
- the float inside 0.07–0.15, since the muzzle collar loses its shine closer to 0.15;
- the gold on the stock rim and scope ring, the fittings that give way first;
- stickers and the applied name, which travel with the listing.
The pattern repeats from listing to listing. There is little to pick between floats, as the 0.07–0.15 stretch is short.
What the AWP | The Prince costs in Minimal Wear
Factory New asks about a third more. Field-Tested sits below both clean grades. Battle-Scarred runs level with Minimal Wear, the difference under three percent and following no logic.
The choice between those two therefore comes down to looks: same money, but Minimal Wear keeps the gold on the fittings and Battle-Scarred does not.
Among Covert AWP finishes here the rifle is fourth of twenty by price. Above it stand AWP | Gungnir, AWP | Dragon Lore and AWP | Medusa, the last dearer by about half again. Closest below is AWP | Desert Hydra at nearly half, then AWP | Fade and AWP | Lightning Strike. AWP | Oni Taiji trails by more than six times.
Getting the AWP | The Prince
The rifle drops from no case. The Canals Collection is tied to the map of that name, and copies came as drops there. It is also built from a contract of ten skins a rank down, all one collection. The collection holds a single Covert finish, so the outcome is known beforehand, while the inputs' floats set the wear.
StatTrak and Souvenir
No StatTrak and no Souvenir variant were made for this finish.
Stickers and craft on the AWP | The Prince
The body is whole here, and a sticker on it is irreversible; the untouched look is what the premium pays for. Stickers that do go on stay on black areas free of ornament. The red inserts at the magazine well are all a warm sticker can echo.
Who this wear suits
Minimal Wear is the grade to buy when:
- the gold fittings have to be whole and a third more for Factory New is steep;
- predictability matters, since listings inside 0.07–0.15 do not diverge;
- the rifle goes into a CS2 inventory rather than daily play.
On price this grade is weighed against Battle-Scarred, and it wins with anyone who cares about the small fittings.
