AWP | Worm God (Minimal Wear)

For the AWP | Worm God, Minimal Wear (MW) takes floats from 0.07 to 0.15, which is 18% of a scale that breaks off at 0.45. The rank is Restricted, and the collection is The Chroma 2 Collection. This is an AWP you can buy with light wear, and Well-Worn actually costs slightly less.

What the AWP | Worm God looks like in Minimal Wear

The rifle is pale gray, almost whitish, with yellow-olive stains over the receiver, stock and grip. Thin black wavy lines and curls lie on top, bunched into a tangle on the right side of the receiver. From there they run onto the stock, where the cheek piece has a light oval with faint circular patterns. The barrel, bipod and top rail are dark bare metal, and the butt pad is dark gray rubber.

The lines form worm-like bends, and there are no recognizable figures, letters or numbers in them. The artwork is made of the finest black lines on a light base, so at a float of 0.07 to 0.15 it still reads whole. The lines begin to break first on the edges of the receiver and the rim of the cheek piece.

Where the AWP | Worm God came from

The finish was made by enzYm. His submission was called "AWP l twine (worm god)" and reached the Steam Workshop on January 16, 2015. In his own description enzYm writes that the AWP twine, also known as Worm God, made it into a new case, and he thanks everyone for their support.

The collection tied to the Chroma 2 Case came out in April 2015, and the skin has belonged to it since the release. Valve's catalog lists the finish under number 424.

What to check before buying

When choosing a listing, these points count:

• float: in this wear the AWP | Worm God sits in the 0.07 to 0.15 stretch;


• stickers from a previous owner and any rename;


• version: the finish has StatTrak, and those listings are sold separately.

The artwork is one and the same on every copy, so there is no special one to look for. The band of 0.07 to 0.15 is tight, so a copy at either end differs from the other only in its float number.

What the AWP | Worm God costs in Minimal Wear

• Factory New is 1.43 times dearer;


• Field-Tested is cheaper by 1.21 times;


• Well-Worn is cheaper by about a twentieth.

The price order is unusual: Field-Tested sits below Well-Worn, even though it is the less worn of the two. It is also the cheapest of the four wears.

Among Restricted AWPs in this wear, the skin sits almost at the bottom: Pit Viper and Phobos are cheaper. Above it come PAW, Exothermic, POP AWP, Black Box and Exoskeleton, and Pink DDPAT is at the very top.

Getting the AWP | Worm God

The only case that holds this AWP is the Chroma 2 Case.

The second route is a trade-up contract. Ten Mil-Spec skins can be taken from different collections, and Valve picks the reward from the collections of the inputs. If you put together ten from The Chroma 2 Collection, this AWP comes up one time in four.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The finish comes in a StatTrak version. There are no Souvenir packages for it.

Stickers and craft on the AWP | Worm God

A pale base takes dark stickers, which read well on the whitish field. The black tangle on the right side of the receiver is better left uncovered, since it is the main element of the finish. In Minimal Wear the edges are still clean, so stickers placed near them do not clash with scuffing.

Who this wear suits

This wear is worth buying if one of these applies:

• you want a light AWP whose lines read in full;


• Factory New at 1.43 times the price is more than you need;


• low wear matters more than the price of Field-Tested, which is cheaper by 1.21 times.

Well-Worn is cheaper by just five percent, and its wear is heavier.
