Charm | Butane Buddy

The Charm | Butane Buddy is an Extraordinary charm from the Dr Boom Charm Collection. It is the most expensive charm in its collection.

What the Charm | Butane Buddy looks like

The charm is built as a pot-bellied lighter. The lower half is red and looks filled with liquid, and the upper half is gray-blue, with a scuffed metal shroud and a flint wheel.

Two short red legs stick out at the bottom, a small flame shows beside the shroud, and the mounting ring comes straight out of the neck. Red is the loudest color here, and the charm stands out well on a dark weapon.

Where the Charm | Butane Buddy came from

The charm belongs to the Dr Boom Charm Collection. The charm category itself arrived in the game on October 2, 2024, with The Armory update, and this set came with it.

Butane Buddy has no description of its own. Valve's text on the listing explains only how charms work and tells no story about the item.

How the charm works

Butane Buddy hangs on a weapon, and also on C4 skins. Knives and gloves take no charms at all. It comes off with the Charm Detachment tool and goes back to the inventory whole.

A weapon has one charm slot, and Sticker Slab takes the same one, so Butane Buddy and the slab cannot share a weapon. The lighter hangs as a three-dimensional model and swings when you run and turn.

Charms have no wear and no float, so there is no condition to choose. They also have no StatTrak or Souvenir version.

Each copy does have its own pattern number, visible on inspect. It does not affect how Butane Buddy looks and remains a mark for collectors.

What the Charm | Butane Buddy costs

Among the twenty-two charms in the Dr Boom Charm Collection, this one costs the most, and by a wide margin.

The nearest one below is almost four times cheaper. Next come Lil' Ferno and Glitter Bomb, each about nine times cheaper.

Who it suits

Butane Buddy is worth buying for CS2 when:

• you want the most noticeable item in the Dr Boom set, and the red lighter does that better than the rest;

• the charm goes on a dark weapon, where the red reads at first glance;

• the top of the collection matters to you more than its middle.
