The CS:GO Weapon Case is a base-level case for CS2 with a small lineup: nine skins in all. The rare special item pool holds knives in five models, and each model can also drop with no skin.
What's in the CS:GO Weapon Case
By rank, the lineup is three Mil-Spec skins, three Restricted, two Classified and one Covert. The Covert is the AWP | Lightning Strike.
The Classified skins are AK-47 | Case Hardened and Desert Eagle | Hypnotic. The Restricted ones are Glock-18 | Dragon Tattoo, USP-S | Dark Water and M4A1-S | Dark Water.
The Mil-Spec skins are MP7 | Skulls, AUG | Wings and SG 553 | Ultraviolet.
Which knives drop from the CS:GO Weapon Case
The rare special item is a knife of one of these models: Bayonet, Flip Knife, Gut Knife, Karambit or M9 Bayonet. There are twelve finishes: Blue Steel, Boreal Forest, Case Hardened, Crimson Web, Fade, Forest DDPAT, Night, Safari Mesh, Scorched, Slaughter, Stained and Urban Masked.
In addition, each of the five models can drop with no skin. Model, finish and wear are all decided at random.
Do you need a key
You do: the CS:GO Weapon Case does not open without one, and the key is bought inside the game. Since October 2019, keys cannot be transferred between accounts or sold on marketplaces, and LIS-SKINS has no listing for one.
There is no need to open a case for a single item. A ready listing of the skin or knife you want costs less than opening one.
What the CS:GO Weapon Case costs
The CS:GO Weapon Case sits at the top of the price range: no other CS2 case costs more. The Operation Bravo Case is 1.84 times cheaper, the eSports 2013 Case 2.46 times and the Operation Hydra Case 4.2 times.
For scale, the Chroma Case is about twenty-five times cheaper than the CS:GO Weapon Case.
Who it suits
The CS:GO Weapon Case is worth buying when:
- you want a case from the very top of the price range;
- the AWP | Lightning Strike interests you, the only Covert skin in the set;
- you are interested in knives in five models, including the versions with no skin.
